My wife and I recently had the absolute pleasure of attending a wedding and reception at Il Pizzaiolo, and we were genuinely blown away. From the moment we stepped in, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and full of heart. It’s clear that this is more than just a restaurant – it’s a place built on love, care, and genuine hospitality.

The food? Absolutely sensational. Every dish we tried was bursting with flavour and made with a clear passion for good, honest cooking. You can truly taste the difference when food is made with love, and Il Pizzaiolo delivers that in every bite.

What really made the night unforgettable, though, were the owners – Frank and Maree. They are the kind of people who instantly make you feel like family. Their friendliness, warmth, and attention to every guest’s experience are what elevate this place from great to truly special.

Unfortunately this visit wasn't up to scratch. The kids Margarita was soggy, just undercooked, so that all the buffalo mozz just slid off when you picked up a piece. We have had this problem before and have asked them to cook for longer but forgot this time, sadly. The vegetarian biancho pizza was such a disappointment. The eggplant and zucchini were diced into tiny little pieces, not lovely big pieces you would come to expect from this sort of pizza. The Americana was way too salty. The salads on offer are too complicated. The pizza should be complemented by a simple rocket and parmesan salad, there is no need to add pumpkin, pinenuts and goats cheese to over complicate the palate. The standout? The Sangiovese on tap. Had pizza from here last week, loved it so much I wanted it again this weekend. I went last night and noticed that the lights were on, but blinds were down so not sure if it was closed. I opened the door. They were closed for a private function. I apologised and was about to leave. The the owner Frank asked me what I wanted and served me some pizza that he had prepared for his family. I was so humbled, it was like being served food from the family dinner table.
