Unfortunately I had an old menu and made a phone order for mixed grill platter. Thought it was $65. Went in shop to collect and it's $160!!!! I missed to ask on the phone, nor did the staff confirm the cost as generally businesses do. We also mentioned chops, skewers and sheftalis on phone, and the staff didn't correct him about it.. We were all so upset and we just couldn't enjoy the food we got. The other dishes had a minimal price hike. But the platters had a crazy big hike, like around $100 just because pita, chips and salad were added??? We were even given chicken + lamb skewers instead of lamb skewers. We don't like chicken breast fillets and don't really enjoy these. I don't have the heart to go to this place ever again. We loved being here every week when my son did swimming lessons near by 2-3 years back and now that our daughter started lessons, we were hoping to be regulars again. Edit: Did see it displayed in store, and did what he thought was the right and fair thing to do- pay for it, as the order was already placed by phone an hour ago and was just there to collect. Thanks for suggesting the other options, but we ordered what we thought was appropriate

Came in with my toddler and got souvlakis and fritters for take away for my family. We went at 11am so it wasn't busy. The (only) customer ahead of us ordered 4 plates and a souvlaki (we arrived as he was ordering) so we waited quite a bit but that was fine. Came home and saw that the fritters we were given are burnt. They didn't just look burnt but definitely tasted bitter burnt as well. Really disappointed as they seemed expensive for what they are but thought they were something I can give my 13months old so I got them anyway. Also can't believe the staff (who also made/prepared our order) managed to look me in the eye when she handed my order earlier. Would definitely not come back or recommend. Update: We get takeaway rarely. As mentioned, I had a toddler and needed to get home, I didn't check when I left, it was your job when you put the burnt fritters in the container with the sauce and lemon on top. I didn't have time to come back and remediate, but would have been happy enough to wait if you had to cook more. The souvlaki was good, service in store was good, but the burnt food really let us down at a very inopportune moment.

The best vegan souvlaki in Melbourne🙌! My partner and myself are both Greeks and that was one of the best souvlaki we've ever had. We wanted to try something that would really remind us the souvlaki flavour we both have missed and Alati gave us exactly what we were looking for. Our souvlakia were juicy and flavourful with crispy chips, mushrooms and a yummy vegan meat alternative, amazing sauce and fresh vegetables. The quality was amazing, the portion was generous and Thodoris was the best. The staff was smiley and kind, music was also good. We'll be back soon, keep up the amazing work👏!

I just recently moved to a suburb near this amazing restaurant. My new housemate suggested Alati for takeout one night and since that first time, this is one of my favourite go-to takeout Dorian always makes you feel welcome with his massive smile and bigger than life personality when you are there. The staffs are generally good too, haha, but down to business, the food are at their best when Dorian is in the house.

I have tried the lamb skewer pack, chicken pack, chicken and pork souvlaki. They are all amazing, ingredients are always fresh and the meats are of great quality, always tender. I have had dinner already but typing out this review is making me salivate for some Alati.

Thanks Dorian for the passion you put into your food and community. It gives me pleasure to be able to experience your craft....
