The gnocchi are to die for. Seriously. I would die for these gnocchi.
My family is Italian and my nonna made gnocchi that few have been able to replicate. Donnini's in Carlton comes close, and now so does Alberto. Nonna's shoes are difficult to fill, but Alberto 's gnocchi, which I bought from an unassuming stall at a market, are a delightful surprise.
They taste deliciously of potato, as they should, they don't taste of flour, and they hold their shape beautifully. Added bonus you don't have to boil them - just add them to your favorite sauce!
