It may look like your average neighborhood Pho joint, but Pho Noodle House is anything but different. I used to go here back in 2018, and it was not good enough to write a thorough review. However, I randomly saw the new advertisement and reviews on Facebook that attracted me to stop by. I amazed that the restaurant has a new owner (2021) and the vibe they brought to us like we are in an actual Vietnamese restaurant in Vietnam. (warm and cheerful). The friendly staff immediately greeted us, and the restaurant was filling up quickly, but we managed to grab a table ( around 6 pm) We started with Phở Đặc Biệt or Special Pho Noodle ( rare beef, brisket and beef balls). A tremendous clear broth that very complexes with all the herbs, spices and nutrition from the beef-bone. "In Vietnamese cuisine, the clearer broth is, the better." The herbs' fragrance ends well, the texture balance of flavour lightness Vietnamese cuisine in a nutshell. I got myself an Egg Noodle Soup Wonton & BBQ Pork or Mì Hoành Thánh Xá Xíu. Once I take a broth sip, I can taste all the flavour from the tender BBQ Pork with the juicy homemade wonton that just truly flavorful and well-rounded. We then ordered Fresh Prawn Rice Paper rolls or Gỏi Cuốn Tôm. "The dipping sauce is the main role in Gỏi Cuốn." The dipping sauce is creamy with a little bit of sweet and salty taste that just a perfect complement. The main thing is that the chef only makes it if there is an order instead of pre-making. Therefore, I can taste the freshness of the prawn, the herb and the vermicelli rice noodle. We didn't stop there, and we ordered Marinated Grilled Chicken ( Gà Nướng Vị) by itself and Salt & Pepper Chicken Spare Ribs (Gà Rang Muối) The Salt & Pepper Chicken Spare Ribs was deliciously juicy and crispy chicken tender and only came with a small bone on each piece. Unique flavours in the stir-fried onion and chilli topping that serve with the perfect dipping sauce. Lastly but not least, the Marinated Grilled Chicken is the well-end. The tender, juiciness and the flavorful grilled boneless chicken that just simply delightful. There are more daily meal deals, and you guys should check it out. And to avoid crowded in the weekend, try to visit before 6pm, 3pm is...
Read moreI LOVE a pho. It’s a special treat, I eat a lot out.. last couple times I’ve ordered in have been disappointed trying new places ( never left a bad review though and always thumbed up restaurant 👍 This is my first ever time leaving a bad review.
First time ever trying this restaurant. I wanted to do so because I chose this new spot because they had such a high rating? They need to be taken down a notch.
I ordered this on uber. I do credit uber for the almost 2 hr late delivery (food was already inedible sitting in a car for over an hour been driven around). I ordered pho - combo with rare beef , brisket and chicken - I paid extra for this - including the obligatory bag of mint and basil herbs/ fresh lemon wedge and bean sprouts of course. Usually fresh chilli and sauce is included too. This is what I got : please see sad photos :(
( soup not icluded.. I separated everything so i could send to uber to receive refund.) A huge bowl of sloppy noodles , the tiniest portion of WAAAY overcooked meat , and a few bean sprouts and a couple rotten basil leaves. Abysmal. I did reach out to shop to let know what their kitchen sent out wasn’t cool - didn’t blame them for travel time obviously.. they took my my number to send through pics but never reached out . So am letting you know! Don’t order here! So many amazing place s in Melbourne to order your pho fix. This ain’t it. $22 for this dish ($26 with delivery) Noi no pho.
It’s so very sad to throw food away too, after very poor effort and care, and especially when you’ve waited so long and need a beauty dinner after a long and brutal day.....
Read moreThe food here is good, there's no complaints about that.
The issue is to be mindful when paying for your meal. If paying by cash, check your change. If paying by card, check they've entered the right amount, before you tap/pay.
I paid by cash, and I was given $10 short, deliberately too. The reason I say this, because when I went back to the counter, after sitting down looking at my incorrect change and he gave me a weird look, I told the young guy with the cap who served me, that I was $10 short. Straight away, without hesitation or questioning me, he went straight to the tilt, and gave me my $10. The other guy (I think boss) came over, and apologised on his behalf.
I felt and knew at that moment he was trying to sell me out short. I just hope he doesn't do it again. He was confident enough to do it to me, so I couldn't imagine how many other customers he'd been doing it to.
I want other customers to be mindful of their cash/change or the amount that's keyed into the eftpos machine.
I hope this review will make him not...
