Bakers Delight is wasteful!! I went to get some bread at 6pm 1 hour prior to closing time. Most shelves were still full of bread and pastries and I asked about what occurs to the remainder…. I was very shocked and disappointed to find out they throw all their bread out, into the bin at 7pm. I told the employer that I thought they partnered with homeless shelters and food bank? They said they do but not everyday…. Why not?? People need to eat daily. We are in a food and financial crisis and Bakers Delight has the potential to have a huge positive impact on those struggling but instead large amounts of food goes into the bin. They never offer discounted bread even 1 hour prior to closure, unlike Coles and Woolworths who mark down fresh products to reduce waste and increase sales. Why not?? I’m very angry and disappointed. At least reducing the price could sell more and reduce landfill, if your not going to partner with shelters daily, despite the large amount of products I witnessed...
