I am an Uber Eats delivery person and a regular at this restaurant, but today’s experience left me quite disappointed.
SCHNITZ Staffs require delivery persons to carry insulated bags when picking up orders, which I completely understand and always comply with. However, my car was parked quite far away, and my insulated bag still contained orders from previous customers. The bag is heavy and not convenient to retrieve immediately. I took photos to show the staffs to prove that the cooler bag was in my car, and I even grabbed the green bag at that moment because I understood they needed it. Yet, the staff still refused to deliver the order and was unwilling to help.I was please ,please and please.
One of the female staff members was very polite and respectful, but a male staff member directly said, “If you don’t have a bag, we won’t give it to you!” He then ignored me and walked away, finally adding, “Go ask the manager.” When the manager came out, he said he had overheard our conversation, but his only solution was: “You can cancel the order.” This made me feel that the restaurant completely disregards the difficulties faced by delivery staff.
To avoid further conflict, I immediately returned to my car, removed the previous customer’s order, and came back with the insulated bag to pick up the order. I believe that neither side is at fault—if both parties had been more flexible and willing to compromise, this issue could have been easily resolved.
What surprised me even more was that when I informed the staff I would leave a review on Google, they were clearly reluctant and even tried to stop me from writing one. I understand that restaurants have their own rules, and I fully respect that; however, many restaurants in similar situations are willing to assist, while this restaurant’s complete unwillingness to communicate comes off as unfriendly.
This experience has left me disappointed with the restaurant’s attitude. I will continue to take orders and will definitely bring my insulated bags as it is part of my job, but I will not choose to dine in here. I also noticed that you left a comment on my Uber account—I wasn’t upset by it because I understand that both sides have their own positions. In life, many things allow for harmonious problem solving.

I was especially impressed by how quickly my order came out, as it got to my table within minutes of sitting down. My server was very friendly and professional, he made me feel welcomed the moment I went up to order. The food was slightly pricier than I expected but it was definitely worth it. The plain and simple burger was juicy, the chicken was tender and not overcooked and the fries went perfectly with a side of garden salad. I was expecting it to be greasy but it was surprisingly well balanced and I loved the toasted bun the burger was made on. The food was put thoughtfully on my plate and was not a mess like some other restaurants I've been to. As I was eating, a waiter walked past and asked if I needed anything, I asked if there was water and he brought me a bottle straight away, which made me feel valued and it was evident that they took care of their customers. If you've ever walked past this Schnitz and were doubtful on whether to eat there or not, I would say go for it because it is honestly the best restaurant in the area. I have ordered from Schnitz Burwood One 4 times now. Online delivery, online pick up and in person twice. None of these experiences have been like the reviews and I have purchased food here multiple times because surely it's just been a once off? But 4 times!? My chips have always been soggy, floppy and undercooked. My schnitzel has always tasted like it has been sitting under that heat lamp for some time.
Today I got the loaded chips. I try them minutes later in the car and they're not cooked properly and so floppy. The potato was lukewarm and hard in the centre. The cheese sauce and gravy was nice but I didn't just want that. I ordered in store to avoid delivery delays and having my food sit there in the likely event delivery people will pick up multiple orders and wait around. The burger I got was okay, again the schnitzel did not taste freshly cooked.
The really young girl who is usually on the counter is quite nice but I think she needs some training and confidence in her role. She has served me twice with maybe a month between visits.
