Travelled a while to get here as we had tried their finger food at a party and liked it, but from the moment we walked in both ladies were so rude to us! I asked if they had the little pastries I as eaten at the party as they have a hot food section and she chided me for not knowing that if I want it I have to order it in advance. This is even though she then said when someone orders they make extra and sell it in the hot food section, so it was possible to just walk in and buy one. My elderly Aunty and I asked one lady what was in the freezer as itâs all in opaque plastic tubs like a home freezer where itâs a bit hard to tell whatâs inside and the labels are in shorthand so someone who doesnât know what the different foods are called wouldnât know what it meant. She was very rude and impatient and she was quite condescending to my Aunty. My Aunty wanted one hot falafel but the lady kept handing her a dozen frozen ones and my Aunty said she only wanted one but the lady just kept going on about how she needed to buy them in a dozen and never bothered to explain that they had hot falafels for individual sale right behind her. All this took place in front of the freezer, and then the other lady who was serving someone else came up and yelled at my Aunty four times to get out of the way as her customer wanted something from the freezer. Her customer said to her thereâs plenty of room I can reach it fine but she kept going on. Firstly, we were customers too and trying to buy something. Secondly if she was in the way, all the lady had to say was excuse me. My Aunty is elderly and a bit slow in moving etc, and it was really upsetting to see her spoken to like that. I noticed the hot falafels then and interrupted my Auntys conversation with the condescending lady to tell her she could get a hot one, and then when we went to pay for all our items we were served at the checkout by the lady who yelled at my Aunty. Myself, my Aunty and my friend all brought things and she was rude to all of us. While she was putting my items through the register I was looking at other products on the counter and pointing things out to my friend and she said are you gonna buy it or not. Then my friend asked for pistachio baklava and she spoke to him like he was stupid for not knowing she had many types and she was impatient at having to explain it (the sign said there were three types and pistachio was one so we ordered as per her sign). I actually regret buying anything from them now, it wasnât until after we left that we compared notes and realised how rude they were to all of us. Iâm not sure why, whether itâs because we arenât middle eastern, but a customer is a customer and when you operate a small business, especially a deli style shop, you should expect and appreciate customers who like to browse everything and buy lots of things. The longer I am in a deli the more I spend as you see all this delicious ethnic food you canât get elsewhere. Had their service been good we would have been repeat customers as the falafel was pretty good although I canât speak for the other stuff as we havenât eaten it yet, but due to their rudeness we...
Read moreIt's ok. I was expecting the lebanese breads they sell there to be better. It's a bit too doughy or too much flour not cooked through enough. The spinach one is a bit on the sour side and the oregano is a bit too full on full of oregano. It's ok for me but others who are not familiar with the cuisine might find it better.
But otherwise the store is pretty good. Sells everything. Dips, sweets, nuts, products from turkey even, tahini etc. Tried their little baklavas basically and it's not too sweet which i liked but the nuts have been crushed too much into a mush, not bad.
Overall okay for me. Nothing overly amazing. Good place to buy some...
Read moreAn inviolate feature of our Saturday mornings involves me being rousted from bed to pick up wonderful, fresh-from- the oven lebanese pizzas and spinach triangles. My favorite is a custom paprika and walnut topping pizza. Six of this assorted basket and I still have change from $20. A busy but friendly team cater to the bustling morning rush. Don't leave it too late though, as they tend to run out as noon approaches. While waiting, one can also pick up frozen falafel balls and mini triangles for when the household teens come in ravenous from school. In addition, there are the staples of all middle eastern stores, halva, fava beans,...
