My time at Bangkok Whistle Restaurant was, regrettably, the opposite of satisfying. When coming into contact with this restaurant, I had nothing but high hopes and lofty anticipations, based on rave reviews, that it would be an experience worth the while. Yet, I was met with service susceptible to the kind of overused phrases that restaurant reviewers often fall back on. After being seated, I felt like I had been forgotten. A wait of over 30 minutes for my cutlery and dinner plate, just following the delivery of my first two orders, was exasperating—and the sense of being neglected was only exacerbated by what I saw (or didn't see) during that sorry span of time. This restaurant is really not good at serving customers. The most basic matter seemed to radiate from the manner of one particular waitress, who appeared to be quite young, probably around 16 years old. Her unhelpfulness was made worse by having a disrespectful attitude. When I finally mustered the courage to voice my concern over the delay, her astounding comeback was, "I DON’T CARE." This kind of response is simply unacceptable in any customer service position, and I can't quite express how disheartened it left me. I mean, I've had my share of service problems, but this was a total first in terms of having a server act as if she didn't care whether I returned to her section again. In any dining experience, it is crucial that customer service be exceptional. It is also crucial that establishments train their staff to handle a variety of situations with the professionalism and courtesy that one would expect in any business where one is spending one's hard-earned money. Certainly, delivery of service is key, but there must also be an effort to create an environment that makes the customer feel valued and welcomed. I was not disappointed in the quality of the food. It was the young waitress's lack of empathy and professionalism that soured my experience. I hope Bangkok Resto's management takes this advice to heart. Customer service is super important in your establishment, as it is in any restaurant that wants to survive. Train your people to serve with respect and to understand that not every evening is their fault. And for crying out loud, train them to treat every customer as a potential friend. In conclusion, going to Bangkok Whistle Restaurant was marred by service that was far from the acceptable standard and an attitude from one staff member that was, well, far from acceptable. Let my experience be a wake-up call for the management to really amp up the customer service and ensure that all employees understand the critical nature of treating the guests with the respect and courtesy that...
Read moreOrdered online for takeaway, received confirmation for 25 minutes pick up. Arrived 5 minutes late (so 30 minutes after order time) and order wasn't ready.
I had to wait another 20 minutes before my order is ready. Lucky the food is absolutely delicious and almost made it ok to wait nearly an hour for the order to be ready. Staff was also friendly and apologetic about the wait. I would definitely give 5 stars for everything if I only had to wait 5 minutes extra. I would also give 5 stars for everything if I was told from the get go that it'll be a 50 minute wait or if I at the very least get a call after ordering to inform me that the wait is gonna be much longer and if I still want to keep my order.
So bottom line is, don't order if you're starving. Otherwise, go for your life. The food is...
Read moreWe had ordered vegetarian take away dishes. The lady when handing over the dishes confirmed everything is vegetarian. We had guests over and on reaching home, realised there were pieces of meat in the soup. On calling, lady on the phone wasn't apologetic at first and kept asking what kind of meat it was. What kind of question to ask a Vegetarian? Then she goes on to say we will adjust it next time. She had absolutely no sense that people do takeaway to feed themselves and in this case our guests. Finally, after some argument they agreed to deliver, but still the lady kept on asking what kind of meat is there in the dish and to leave the meat in the soup because they wanted to check. My mom whonhss been a staunch vegetarian all her life, was so upset that she did not eat her dinner at all....
