Beat Coffee — Restaurant in Melbourne

I used to date a Dutch woman who was pretty great except we had a strange falling out over an industrial train accident/disaster in the US. One upside to that short and tumultuous relationship was that she introduced me to Beat Coffee bagels and so my relationship with their food is both primal and whimsically bittersweet. I cannot overstate the importance that their Supreme Pastrami Bagel holds in my mental and physical wellbeing. It's like if the best pastrami you ever had in your life married a warm hug to the sound of a deep wholesome oboe drifting on a fresh morning breeze along the steppes of Mt. Matterhorn when the earth was still young. The lettuce and cream cheese are the mighty swelling chorus that ties it all together. I ate two once and I am going to always tell my fictional grandkids about that day. Their coffee is great too - my only real misgiving is that I'm a quantity AND quality guy so a larger take away cup size would answer all my quesrions about life. Perhaps that's the most important thing though, that there is always a tension between perfection and beauty and they are not always the same...

Beat Coffee HQ is an intimate cafe and retail space that operates in front of the main business. You can see behind-the-scenes roasting action through a large window from the cafe. A sensory feast for people who are serious about coffee. They've even got cold-brew on tap! It took me 7 months to find this local treasure - definitely the best coffee experience...

Moved here from Sydney 2 weeks ago into Reservoir, this easily is the best coffee around, I felt welcomed from when I walked through the door, service. Everything I wanted in a coffee shop and within walking distance from my house. Some of the other cafes in Reservoir should take note on service and greeting a guest, it makes a world of difference which is why I appreciated the warm welcome when I came in here.
