Gioco Gelato — Restaurant in Melbourne

Gelato is nice but the service leaves a bitter after taste. Came to have salted caramel which wasn't in stock (fair enough). Offered cherry flavour which isn't a flavour l enjoy. Owner was visibly upset because l didn't like cherry! The immaturity began there. Should have left when the owner huffed like a child and asked the lady to serve us instead when my son asked to taste the chocolate gelato. Ordered some 500ml gelato which usually come in a large Insulated tub. They ran out so was given a different container which appeared a lot smaller with nothing clearly labelling the size. We eventually found it printed on the inner rim under the container. The owner was seething at this stage and the temperature of the shop had risen a few degrees, almost melting the ice cream. When leaving, wanted to double check the total. The lady confirmed the prices and all was good. So l thought. Mt Vesuvius had just built up enough steam in the background to explode. Went on a tirade in a foreign language. Thinks its ok to swear at customers in ltalian. If you don't mind being verbally abused in front of your children, this is the place to visit. Gelato 3 star service 0.

REVIEW: With a small selection, Gioco Gelato is definitely a specialty store. From the small window in the wall, you don't get to see them pull the icecream from the pozzetti cases but you definitely get to taste quality. It has a memorable creaminess that's smooth and light. Perfect to cool you down on a summer's day.

Worthwhile stopping by if you're in the Reservoir/Thomastown area and looking for a way to cool you down! They were pretty friendly from the brief...

Today my partner and I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Serge and Louise.

Not only was their homemade Gelato Hands down, THE most devine I have EVER experienced without a doubt! We had a wonderful chat : ) Both Serge and Louise are so passionate and knowledgeable about flavour combinations and what aesthetically looks sensational with their creations. We also had a good laugh and was treated like VIPs/Family.

Without hesitation, we can't recommend you highly enough!!! You guys really do 'Top the Cake'
