Service:** Upon entering Zegov, we were greeted by friendly staff who were eager to assist. The service was prompt without being intrusive. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and offered excellent recommendations based on our preferences.
Menu: Zegov’s menu is a homage to traditional Macedonian cuisine, offering a variety of dishes that highlight local ingredients. The selection includes:
Appetizers: We started with Ajvar (a roasted red pepper spread) served with fresh bread, and Tavče Gravče (baked beans), which was hearty and flavorful. The presentation was rustic yet appealing.
Main Courses: For the main course, we opted for Sopska Salad (a refreshing mix of tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, and feta cheese) followed by Grilled Skewers (Ćevapi), which were perfectly spiced and juicy. The portion sizes were generous, and the flavors were authentic, making it a satisfying experience.
Vegetarian Options: Zegov also caters to vegetarians, with dishes like Pindzur (a relish of roasted peppers, eggplant, and tomatoes) and Stuffed Peppers with rice and herbs, showcasing Macedonia's rich agricultural bounty. This was freshly cooked for me. Modern Macedonian music was playing in the background.
