Live and work in Blackburn my first visit to Black Alchemy was with work our Dr's, nurses and reception staff decided to have a get together. There were 8 of us we all ordered a variety of meals from Smashed Avocado, Corn Fritters, Eggs and Bacon to the most amazing Souffle Pancakes i have ever eaten. I have eaten in many many resturants all over Australia and the world i cannot fault this place. The qualitty of the staff are friendly bubbly and welcoming, Vincent a wealth of knowledge about coffee and serves up fantastic coffee. While sitting here drinking my coffee i over heard gentleman walk in and say he will always pop in going out of his way to do so after finding this place as the coffee is amazing. A few weeks later i brought my 4yr old granddaughter in for a treat with nanny for her birthday. She was so excited and proceeded to tell the staff it was her birthday. A few minutes later all the staff walked out with a cupcake and a candle in it singing happy birthday to her, she felt so special. I can highly recommend this place with 3 of the most important things a restaurant should have and Black Alchemy has nailed them, great food, service and very reasonable price. I will continue to go back and each day my Dr's send me to get their coffee from there, i believe returning customers...
Read moreSecond attendance in two weeks, both times we popped in for a quick coffee and cake, both times treated with contempt when not ordering meals. No wonder the place is empty at lunch time. This time the lady serving didn’t even speak, classic. Today’s effort was a scone advertised with jam and cream. Arrived with jam and butter, no cream and crumbled like shortbread. When I asked if it was fresh he lied to our face and said “yes we cook them every day but normally heat them up.” They heat them up because they are a week old and like biscuits more like it. Take your money elsewhere, they don’t want it here. Another once great local business taken over by overseas owners with no idea about food or...
Read moreWe had the most amazing breakfast at Black Alchemy Cafe today! I wish I had taken a photo because the food was delightfully presented and absolutely delicious. I had the veggie stack- sweet tender red peppers with spinach, button mushrooms and a lemony avocado sauce (?) Poached eggs done exactly as I asked for and crunchy toast. My friend had an avocado and smoked salmon dish that looked amazing with seaweed chips! Very creative and super Yummy! Great atmosphere, really nice and relaxing (no crashing dishes or banging coffee machines). Coffee was fabulous, creamy and hot. 10 out of 10! Lovely wait staff too. Don't miss out, go and check it out!...
