So good I dug in without taking photos!
I love bruschetta so much if it’s on the menu you bet your bottom dollar I’m ordering it. Now usually, this leaves me disappointed and thinking I could do a better job at home - Well, not this time!
I had the pesto bruschetta special with gluten free bread. It was the BEST bruschetta I have ever had! Medley of tomatoes, seasoned to perfection, so garlicky and pesto-y and balanced that I ate all the rocket. The toast was soaked in the oils of the dish but still crisp. The mozzarella was so creamy and lots spread throughout the meal. Genuinely cannot speak highly enough of this dish considering the many, many let downs I’ve had else where. One of the best.
My partner had the open omelette special. Again, good portion, soft, pillowy and creamy egg.
We ordered coffee and it came out so quickly I didn’t have time to finish my sentence! It was so good we ordered a second. Plus an orange juice to share.
Atmosphere is lovely, chill and family friendly. Indoor and outdoor seating with shade. Great ambiance to chat with friends and family without any blasting music. Tables are nice and big so you’re not bunched up and sitting next to a stranger. Chairs are comfy, I could easily spend a lot of time and money here simply because of how comfy and inviting the atmosphere is, I’m not rushing to get out the door.
Staff are quick to respond, friendly and polite. You get the vibe that it’s the local place that everyone loves with their regular customers and kids talking and catching up with the staff.
It really was such a great find and I will be coming back for...
Read moreHave passed this place a number of times and its leafy location and wonderful outlook with table and chairs and busy-ness caught my eye. We went for lunch there yesterday on our way to the Blackburn Lake then onto the Yarra Valley wineries. Initially it was going to be a coffee stop but we decided to stay and eat as everything looked so clean and appealing and the staff were warm and welcoming. The food was very nice. Super large servings of bacon on the egg and bacon breakfast. The one critique I would have is that the menu is about 98% catering for meat or fish eaters. (I wasn't the one that ordered egg and bacon! lol) :-). There is such a large population of vegetarians and vegans in this day and age that it would be nice to see a few more vegetarian options though the staff kindly substituted my chicken in the buddha bowl for fetta cheese. I agree with some of the other reviews its quite pricey. I am used to say a $12.50 lunch - a simple foccaccia or say a vegetarian gourmet pie with a bit of lettuce tomatoe on the side plus coffee but there was no food in that price range for lunch. I give it 5 stars for cleanliness/nice staff/beautiful surrounds indoor and outdoor/lovely restrooms etc. but one star less as its a little bit pricey for a regular casual stop and it lacks a few more vegetarian options otherwise well done! ...
Read moreGood vibe, good location. Average coffee Milk foam good but coffee beans are average, the flavor and body is so plain and boring.
And another thing is, the guy who likes to reply “beautiful “to customers forgot my order. I sit with my flat white maybe 30min and I ask the waitress how is my order, and she asked me what did I order. I just forgot what the actual name of it so I said I forgot the name and she just ran inside and spoke loudly to others”She forgot what she order!” the pitch of her sound just like that was my fault! It’s fine that you forgot the order, but why did you speak like that. That’s rude. Then, another guy helped me with their menu, and they finally got my order.
They apologize twice for the missing order. But the problem is not actually the missing but what the way you deal with it.
Sensitive me?
3stars for the meal, water and the...
