Burgertory (Coburg North) — Restaurant in Melbourne

I came with 2 of my friends this afternoon to eat burgers. I was told good things about the burgers here and wanted to try. I ordered the Sloth burger which was my first ever smash burger I had which was very filling and tasted amazing. All ingredients used were fresh and the smash patty was cooked perfectly. The chips were very good as well. Fresh potatoes, crispy outside and soft inside. My friend ordered the mozzarella sticks and it was my first time having that as well. I stole one from him and I have to say that it was also worth the theft. I got my other friend and myself ice creams and while they were starting to melt I enjoyed eating it after the filling meal. Perfect way to end such an amazing feast. The costs seemed a little steep for me and it did take a little longer for the food to come despite there being less people and orders. I won't hold that against them because the food was worth every penny and the wait time. I seriously suggest people come there and try the food.

While I am a very patient person, I think others aren't that patient. Just that to work on a little. Other than that, clean place, person who gave us the food and gave us our ice cream was also very friendly. I really liked his vibe. (I have suspicions he is the owner but I'm not sure). Anyway I had a great experience eating. I will definitely come back soon to try any spicy chicken...

During my visit on December 3rd, I observed a concerning lapse in hygiene when my ice cream was prepared without the waiter (Marah A) wearing gloves. Upon noticing this, I kindly requested the waiter to use gloves for my order. Unfortunately, instead of addressing the concern professionally, the waiter responded with frustration and reluctantly put on gloves, proceeding to serve my ice cream with visible displeasure.

As a customer, I believe it is essential for establishments to prioritize and maintain high standards of hygiene, especially when handling food. The lack of respect for sanitary measures during this incident was not only disconcerting but also raises serious concerns about the overall commitment to customer well-being.

I rate this place, HIGHLY. My husband and I always go here for dinner or lunch. My only issue was last night. it was so busy but severely understaffed. I know that it is Ramadan at the moment, and there are days of unexpected rushes of people coming in for Iftar, but Burgertory and Hash are very loved and supported by the Muslim community. It should be expected that there will be a lot of people.

Not only did we wait for our dinner for an hour, they actually forgot our food when it was ready and waiting to be served. My husband went to ask one of the girls and she said "You need to be paitent" which I think we were VERY patient with the staff, and when my husband pointed out that groups of people who ordered after us were getting served BEFORE us, she said "We can't control what comes out of the kitchen". We didnt want to argue so we left it at that, and our food was served literally minutes after but it was COLD. Now I've worked in hospitality and had a family run cafe for 7 years, and I know very well that is not how it works. She was obviously not trained or was inexperienced.

Anyway, we ate our food and as usual we LOVE Burgertorys food, so we smashed it. But I don't think I'd go to Burgertory during...
