Exceptional Experience at Café Odo Beer & Wine - A Hidden Gem!

Café Odo Beer & Wine truly exceeded my expectations, making it a standout gem in the area. My visit was prompted by a friend's recommendation, and I am thrilled to share my exceptional experience.

From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warmth and a personal touch. The prime location, just a stone's throw from the beach, provided breathtaking sea views, earning it a solid "Location 10/10." The ambiance was delightful, earning another perfect score of "Ambiance 10/10."

I opted for the Salmi Rocket mayonnaise sundried tomato Turkish bread, paired with a refreshing Coopers Pale Ale. The culinary delight was unparalleled, earning a solid "Food 10/10." What amazed me further was the prompt service; my order was on the table within 5 minutes despite the bustling crowd. This efficient service earned a perfect score of "Service 10/10."

The staff's interaction was exceptional; they were not just attentive but went above and beyond to make it a personalized experience. The owner, in particular, was actively engaging with every table, creating a sense of community. This old-fashioned, genuine service sets Café Odo apart. Both staff interaction and training deserve a resounding "10/10."

Well, before I decided to write this review I made sure to run through the others comments . The average is 4.5..... Not Great but if every point is taken seriously not shunned there is no reason why this cafe could not score an overall score of 8/10. Sadly a general one off review does not hold integrity and similarly inconsistently. I thought it will be the right thing to do and provide my honest qualified opinion being involved and associated with hospitality for over 38 years. I have visited almost every Cafe in the area, numerous times just to observe level of quality and consistency in all aspects of the operation. ODO, I have visited off and on during my morning run and have had coffee stops. Generally coffee is great but inconsistent. It is a shame. Following are my observation. Location 8/10 Ambiance 3/10 Service 4/10 Staff interaction 4/10 Attention to detail 4/10 Staff training 5 /10 Food 5/10 What truely lets it down is the owners attitude. He is not willing to take onboard any constructive criticism. SAD. When a costumers is only putting forward their view.

All 7 points can be fixed but if the man on the helm has an attitude that does not go down well. Having put my penny's worth in, there is no reason why this could not be one of the best Cafe only if a little care is taken in making all wrong, right. Best Wishes Euro...

These guys are my go-to cafe in Black Rock. Been going here since they opened, then moved away for a few years and came back when Simon and Betty took over. They are super friendly and always a joy to chat to them. There are probably 15 cafes in Black Rock and there's a reason I choose to go to these guys.
