Cafe Lucio — Restaurant in Melbourne

Used to love coming to this cafe, the food was great but will not return due to the way we were treated,(returning customers mind you) ordered a big breakfast as I have previously many times before, when asked if we could have our eggs replaced as they were over done and we have never receive them like that before, nothing nasty, we were screamed out by a little Asian guy whom than storm back into the kitchen and came back with our plate not new eggs (same eggs) with some yoke spelt over the top and continued to belittle us Infront of the entire cafe, no replacement of eggs were offered just a barrage of him carrying on regarding thats how eggs are cooked, asked for a refund as the way we're spoken too (screamed at) was uncalled for, he than got our money and slammed it on the table, absolutely disgusting customer service and definitely will not be going...

Had lunch here with my partner. She ordered Cabonarra Pasta, however as she getting to the end of it found there to be an enormous amount of oil in the plate. I had a fresh jam donut expecting it to be light and fluffy. What I got was a donut that was hard and stale. My partner enjoys coming here and I wanted to treat her however after this visit we will not be coming back. We showed the oil in the pasta dish to a waiter, they advised they would speak to the chef. We were not offered a refund for the meal that I would describe as being prepared by a part time cook. This is why I don't like paying for a meal until it has been served. Based on this experience I would not recommend this...

Love this place. It's even a little quirky. Order at register, handed a table number, go pick a table and wait for your food or coffee. Love it! This place is about the food and coffee. If you want table staff to drool all over your new Gucci Handbag, go elsewhere they are way too busy for that. Can get very noisy but that's part of something called atmosphere. I've been coming here since 2012, never had bad food, coffee is strong, with a kick, jyst ask for 1/2 strength if you like a mild coffee. Some days, weekends, I've counted 12-14 staff so they must be doing okay. Love their...
