Prego Espresso Bar — Restaurant in Melbourne

I used to frequent this Cafe a lot however one of the staff there, possibly an owner (female) was way too moody. Go to get a coffee one day, all smiles, then next visit barely speak, almost curt. At first I thought okay, she is having a bad day but then I noticed after taking my order and barely speaking or a smile, next person, all over them, smiles and chatty, addressing them by their name. I understand that in this industry you have good and bad days and it's very demanding so I'm always courteous.but if you choose to be in this industry, suck it up, I don't need Your attitude when I'm getting my morning coffee. It's a shame as the coffee is great. I have not been back here in almost 2 years as she is still there. The male (? Owner) who barristas most days is always pleasant! Very odd setting. Falafel wrap was good. Coffee was ok, nothing special. Ordered an espresso and told that what I actually want is a short black 🤔

Barrista was also quite rude. I just head nodded to get out of there but she really shouldn’t be ill-tempered with customers.

Also, if you’re sitting inside (the shopping centre foyer) just a heads up there is a lot of foot traffic/noise.

Tables were also dirty and not cleared from previous customers.

I rarely give bad reviews - unless warranted.

😀👌Outstanding service, a range of good quality food and coffee, open till 5pm where all the other cafes close at 2 or 3 o'clock, an important aspect for us. The serving sizes are generous, the prices very reasonable. This is an unpretentious, honest and friendly cafe - a lot of other hospitality outlets could learn from Prego. 😉 By the way, it's located directly in front of Coles supermarket, so it's very convenient for shoppers.
