Wow is all I can.say! Drove 40 minutes from cockatoo to check out this fish n chips shop as I'm a member of the Facebook page lovers of potato cakes and everyone on the page says how good this place is soo I went and tried for myself.... well people are exactly right! This place is amazing the owner is SUPER friendly and very chatty and from the second I walked into the store he was extremely welcoming. He was telling me all about his 15 flavoured potato cakes and how he started his business. He was sooo friendly definitely put a smile on my face with how nice he was and soooooooo welcoming, we all need a fish n chip shop exactly like this in our own home towns. It's not ur normal boring fish n chip shop his array of american lolly and drinks is amazing and his potato cakes were sooo yummy. I explained I was there to try his famous potato cakes and I told him were I was from.... he gave me soo many extra potato cakes for me to try as I came all this way to try them and wow they were soooo good. My favourite was the 24 hr salt and vinegar 2.0 and the cheese and Bacon 2.0 hubby liked the seasoned potato cake and the pizza one. ALL OF THEM we got were super yummy and crunchy and cooked to perfection. They were a little oily but the oil even tasted good as it was very fresh and clean and well i couldn't be happier.. They even put a cute message on your paper on your order BEARY HAPPY 🐻 IF you haven't been to this place GOOOOO YOU WONT REGRET IT. I can guarantee that you will leave with a smile on your face and thinking we all need a fish n chip shop like that in our town! Thankyou for making my 40 min drive amazing and couldn't be happier. I visited this place due to an amazing review on the 'Potato Cake Appreciation Society' which randomly showed up on my Facebook one day. When I found out that this place was only 20 minutes away from me, I had to go try!

It was incredibly busy when we went; it was a Friday. Despite how busy the place was, the intentional and personalised service they give you in the few minutes you take to give your order is amazing! I personally had never tried a Blue grenadier before and couldn't decide whether to get that or the classic Flake. When I told them I couldn't make up my mind and asked if it was possible to have half and half in the pack, they agreed it was a hard decision and did exactly that. I appreciated that they didn't charge for having half and half in the pack because some fish and chip shops do and personally, I feel like it ruins the limited chance to personalise the pack.

We ordered the Family Pack 1, paid by card (there was no surcharge) and received it piping hot within 20 minutes. We opted to take it home and even though we drove back 20 minutes, it was still super hot when we dug in. The fish fillets were huge, unlike the classic corner store fish and chip places. The portion was incredibly generous for a family of 4. My only critique is that the fish were dripping with oil, more-so than other places I have tried; but this is something I can easily overlook due to how good everything tasted.

I would definitely recommend this place...

Food: Good portions, good taste, sweets were AWESOME. Good seasoning - well salted and not too overdone. Good amount of sugar dusting on fried sweets too.

Customer service: Employee (owner?) called me to let me know they were missing an item. They called me straight away to offer an alternative or a refund without question. Opted for an alternative which was just as good.

Accuracy/cleanliness: All items were delivered in full. Missing nothing. Everything was correctly labelled and in separate bags/wraps.

Timing: Slightly slow on the delivery. HOWEVER! We ordered at their busiest time. It is expected they were slow - they are only human. Everything arrived hot and cooked through, so the time wasn't them leaving things hanging around.

Special touch: Wrote kind messages on our delivery products. That extra touch you can't pay for - that is a standard they take themselves.

Response to bad reviews: Greasy food - its fried food, expect grease. This isn't a 5* steakhouse, its fish and chips. Customer service - no idea where this comes from. They took the time to give me a call to update me on my order even in their busy hours. Badly cooked - it may be depending on other things, but the times we have ordered were perfect. I suggest ordering again and seeing how you feel.

Overall great place. Exactly as you would expect from a fish and chip store. However, they go...
