Food was fantastic, to be honest best naan I've had in all of Melbourne (we got the cheese spinach naan).
However the service and wait time was pretty disappointing and wished we were told we would be waiting close to an hour before committing. Mind you the restaurant at this stage had only 4-5 tables seated with a capacity of at least 20 indoor + 3 or 4 outdoor?
The waitress that served us seemed new and as such lacked the energy and spoke very minimally (which is still understandable) but NEVER have I ever seen anyone in the service industry outright put a breakable (plate) right in front of a child sitting on a high chair.
They brought out plates first for us without anything to eat for the next 15 to 20 minutes and the main plates were actually prepped to be warm. That being said, what's the point of having warm plates if the food comes 20m later on to the table..?
They were quick to serve when it was for payment but took yet another 10 minutes when we asked for takeaway containers. The more experienced waiter asked how everything was and I gave them the cold truth. Food: amazing, service: Unfortunately, not so much. He said sorry as the waitress that served us is just a trainee which I fail to see how that relates to the food taking an hour to serve.
Considering this place was so hyped up in the wantirna locals group with a 4.9 google rating, personally I expected better. I will give one more chance as again the food was fantastic, but honestly not fantastic enough to offset that kind of service if that's...
Read moreMy friends and I usually catch up at a fast food restaurant to have a chat but this time a friend suggested CInnamon. It was a 20 mins drive from my place and it was definitely worth it!! The Masala Chai tasted as it should, so delicious that we ordered 2 each! We weren't able to stay for a main meal but we did order some starters to fill our tummies as we chatted despite the papadam and chutneys they gave us. The pakoras came with 4 patties and a little helping of fresh salad. It was a great choice to have with the masala chai! We also had the Himalayan Momo (Chicken) which came with a little helping of fresh salad as well... and wow they were amazing! It was my first time having this delicious Indian dumpling and I just had to order it for a take-away too, to let my husband try it! The service was friendly and fast. Next time we'll go back and try the mains!! We really appreciate good service and great food! Thank you to all the staff at Cinnamon Indian Nepalese Restaurant & Bar! You can spot the Taj Mahal on the wall! :) PS We got there by 5.30pm (perfect for tea time treats!) and there were still quite a few empty parking spots, so that was...
Read moreVery well thought out concept . The food is fresh. FRESH as in , please enjoy these papadums while we make your momos brand new, steam them, pan fry in real butter and then serve them to you in the soup. And that's on a busy Saturday night. (Please excuse my bad pictures, it was so delicious, I forgot to take one straight away)
We were served by our Nepalese server who was just brilliant with guiding us the spice levels , making lovely recommendations and checking in on us just the right amount.
I think this is the best Nepalese 🇳🇵 and Indian fusion food in Melbourne ( on par with 5 star restaurants due to freshness and flavours). Fresh ingredients, served with care and VERY good quality on flavours. Perhaps a deep understanding of texture too because our naan was perfect. It's not burnt, soft and crispy . If you haven't been here , this is a true hidden gem and you 100% should. Its only a matter of time before these guys blow up into recognition.
We ordered lamb curry , Dal fry, jhol momos, raita , naan, and mango panna cotta.
I'm coming...
