The Knox Club is a local venue that my friends and I enjoy visiting. It features our favorite machines: the Mighty Genie Link games, Persian Treasure and Dragon's Wish, colloquially known as the "Blue Genie" and "Red Genie," respectively.
Without delving into the theme of the two games yet, the Mighty Genie “Hold and Spin” feature is unmatched compared to other games we've played. Set on the new MarsX cabinets, Aristocrat elevates the 'hold and spin' feature, allowing up to three genies to appear, with each compounding your winnings during the feature round based on the denomination of the coins. On traditional Dragon Link and Lightning Link machines, the 'hold and spin' feature only adds the coin denominations once. In the Mighty Genie Link game, a rainbow genie may appear, offering the chance to win a jackpot. We’re always on the lookout for that special genie!
The themes of the Blue and Red Genie games captivate us. There's something mystical about the Middle Eastern and Asian settings that draws us in—perhaps they evoke ideas of untapped wealth, the allure of the exotic, and opportunities to explore the unknown or journey back in time. This might be influenced by Hollywood, Disney, and other cultural icons. As we play, with each spin and every reel, we enter a flow state, battling with the machine in a struggle reminiscent of David and Goliath, trying to reclaim what is rightfully ours.
Persian Treasure: Gems, jewels, camels, and princesses. The feature offers 6 or 10 free games, where wilds can randomly appear on the screen. Dragon's Wish: Dragons, Asian Tael coins, firecrackers, and money trees. The feature provides 6 free games, and when a full wild stack appears on any reel, that stack is held for the remaining free games.
What academics say about pokies is accurate: "They share many similarities with digital games, and the objective of gameplay isn't always just to win money, but to satisfy a desire to complete missions and embark on adventures.
It has been a pleasure to play these games at the Knox Club. The venue offers our favorite drinks, snacks, and food, adding to the overall experience. In the video I posted in the Google review, I aimed to capture the emotion, the excitement, and the thrill of playing, while also highlighting how well the gaming area is set up. I will be signing up as a member of the Knox Club. Thank you for your exceptional service and...
Read moreHad a lovely casual lunch with my partner and Oma. As non members ourselves, driver’s license were expected at check in. So make sure you have yours on you.
The lunch menu had a great range from Seniors, Kids, Burgers, Pasta and Steak options. This also includes Chef Special and Meal of the Day specials. And then there are the Specific day specials. We went on a Saturday, and roast of the day was turkey.
Interior: Clean and spacious. Really nicely spaced tables and chairs to allow for privacy, or flexibility to push tables and chairs together to cater for bigger groups.
Outdoor Deck: a lovely spacious outdoor deck with seating and greenery for those wanting to enjoy a drink or two with food while basking in the sunshine. Or for those that don’t mind a bit of a breeze on the chillier days.
Lunch, Steak:
My partner said the meat was cooked well, however, a standard cut of steak. Still acceptable for the club. Pepper sauce.
The sides of salad was a great choice, and also comes with chips. The fat chips were crunchy and perfectly baked. Although, with the salad and chips was a bit much for him. Oma and I didn’t steal any chips, so he didn’t finish it all. But I am sure if he had room in his belly he would have finished them off.
Lunch, Fettuccine Carbonara: Oma and I had ordered this. There was a Senior Special, kids size. And then the standard, which I didn’t quite finish.
Very generous with the servings and bacon. I added extra salt and pepper on mine to give it more flavour since the cream was very rich.
Tea, water and Beer: served quickly and professionally. The English breakfast, with side of milk was perfect.
Water was self served and plentiful.
I couldn’t remember what beer my partner offered. Some ale I am sure. He seemed to enjoy it.
Service: professional and quick. Even though the eftpos was down the day we were having lunch. We were offered a tab and then to fix the bill at the end. We only had to wait for 5-10 minutes but it was not an inconvenience because the staff was friendly and explained to us the whole time what was happening.
Will return again with Oma since it’s close to her house and she does like...

Well a year later and you have failed again.
Strike 1 signing in we where greeted by a sour grumpy person obviously having a bad day not a good start, later we where at the front desk when our friends arrived they where greeted by two lovely smiling girls.
Strike 2 whilst waiting at the bar for service we waited and waited while we watched at least 5 staff walking around doing something as l was the only person standing at the bar for quite a while until this other person walked up to the other end of the bar and was served strait away.
Strike 3 as per normal the chips cold as. We had the Lamb Shanks the meat was lovely tender and hot the same cannot be said about the vegetables must have got them out of the same fridge as the chips. Then there's the sauce poured over the shanks BLAND tasteless as.
Strike 4 the noise coming from the kitchen obviously the cutlery was being thrown from a great distance into something this went on for some time we have experienced similar rudeness and disrespectful behaviour before in your premises at a funeral wake the bar staff where throwing bottles and glasses around whilst the eulogy was happening.
Unfortunately people keep going back but this is one place l wouldn't...
