@Circa900Pizzeria is an Italian Pizzeria serving a range of pizza and calzone amongst other things. The deep fried calzone filled with pork and fennel sausage and greens took my fancy. I love anything deep fried and calzone, this being a marriage of the two. A very very large plate is presented with a huge golden brown calzone. If battered fish were put next to it the calzone would look like a whale dwarfing the fish! Fortunately it's just puffed up once you stick the fork and knife in it deflates ever so slightly. That goes to show how it's so light and fluffy and perfectly seasoned, not heavy dough, encasing a lovely mix of pork and fennel sausage, Neapolitan style wild broccollini, and fior di latte - similar to mozzarella. The filling has the perfect balance, not being too meaty or too cheesy, but just right. I like the cheese and while personally would have liked more intensity in the flavour of the pork sausage, it's an excellent and very satisfying meal from start to finish.
I couldn't resist tiramisu which is a favourite dessert of mine. Once again a very generous serving is presented. A good version but having eaten heaps of tiramisu, something is a bit off in the balance. It's creamy, moist, light, nice cocoa dusting but something is a little muted, maybe lacking a layer of sponge fingers which would provide more of a coffee punch. As a result the dessert becomes too creamy for my liking.
Returned for another visit alongside the odd takeaway. Gotta try some pizza. Gambari Al Peperoncino: San Marzano tomatoes, for di latte, chilli oil, garlic, sundried tomatoes, cooked tiger prawns, parsley - delicious pizza, lovely pizza base, blistered on the bottom with a slight char from the pizza oven pumping out pizza after pizza, light and not doughy, tasty tomato sauce, tender succulent prawns, great flavours that work. Would have liked more of a chilli kick.
Tartufo: white base, for fi latte mixed mushrooms, porcine mushrooms, goat's cheese, rocket and truffle oil - delicious pizza base but this pizza was kind of disappointing. Maybe it's the clump of fresh rocket on top which makes each mouthful kind of dry, akin to a bowl of salad with no dressing, this badly lacked a sauce underneath to tie all the ingredients together. Which is a shame because mushroom pizzas are earthy and have great flavours. The mushrooms are plump and juicy, goat's cheese is delicious, but it kind of feels like they forgot to put a sauce on the base. I can smell the truffle oil but not really taste it.
Cannoli:serves 2, filled with fresh ricotta cream and dark chocolate - can't leave without dessert and the traditional filled cannoli hit the spot. Crispy shell encasing a smooth ricotta mix with specks of dark chocolate to provide contrast, the bitterness against the creamy chees, great way to finish off the meal.

Read moreI was sent a coupon for a free pizza to the value of or less than 1x item after clicking a targeted add on Facebook. The voucher arrived in my messenger inbox along with 10 other messages with menu, promos etc. The final message said "wait to click this until you order/pay - for your free pizza voucher" so I didn't click it and waited to do so upon pickup.
I had never tried Circa 900, so on a rainy evening I decided to phone up and order 2 pizzas. While ordering on the phone I clearly mentioned I had a voucher for the pizzas to which the phone attendant asked which pizzas I would like.
I went with the Fungi/Tartufu (Very bland and seemed to be lacking any goats cheese - topped with at least half a box of old roquette.) and the Vesuvio (Also lacking flavor and was very dry.)
I approached the counter to pay for my take-out order while clicking the "free voucher" link, which revealed an image to which I presented to the counter staff. I was quickly told it only applied to dine in transactions and it would not be honored this time.
"𝘔𝘢𝘺𝘣𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘪𝘵 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘬?" Was the phrase quickly uttered to me as my face was struck with confusion.
I am really quite happy to support small and local business, however this whole scenario was pretty bizarre and felt a little misleading.
This defiantly left a bad taste in my mouth and unfortunately neither of the zaa's were able...
Read moreReviewing on behalf of an online order. Unfortunately the base was over cooked and had hardly any cheese ( perhaps a small piece of 2 slices) , I also added roasted capsicum but they were crunchy and seemed as though they may have been added last minute because they were forgotten. Overall disappointed, mainly for the lack of cheese but especially for paying an added $3 for an ingredient only to not have it cooked. Edit reply* unfortunately there were numerous issues with a simple pizza order and since it was done via Uber eats, I cannot have it replaced. I feel as though if this was cooked well In store, perhaps it would be a nice pizza but unfortunately that was not the experience I had as a first time buyer. I don't understand why there was barely any cheese nor why the capsicum was well under cooked. If the pizzas are not in long enough, it's best to just add capsicum as a topping but I don't consider adding it last minute which is raw as roasted capsicum, perhaps different wording would change the expectation. It is supposed to be soft. There was nothing roasted about it, it didn't have the time to roast. I decided to take a chance and was disappointed. I would have happily dined in, in the future if this was not the...
