Degani Woodgrove — Restaurant in Melbourne

I brought my partner here because it was supposed to be a fancy place to eat and I wanted to do something special for his birthday. I had to ask for a table to be wiped down because it had food and dirt everywhere (which happens with outdoor tables). The waiter came out and wiped it with a cloth that smelled so feral I had to take 3 steps back, it was overwhelming the smell it was disgusting. He also wiped my seat then the table then the other seat. I was a little upset he didn't do the table then the seats and since the cloth was clearly not clean also that was really disgusting. I stood there for so long waiting for the smell to go he came out to dry it thinking that's why I wasn't sitting down. I should have left at that point....but I felt bad for making him clean the table "for nothing" (which I shouldn't because that's his job).

So we sat down. For the entire meal I could smell the sponge on the table as I was sitting and we were there for at least an hour. I asked for some water and it was delivered in a glass that was clearly dirty (lip prints and finger prints) and I had to ask for another. When our pizza arrived I was given a dirty fork (food between the prongs). The pizza also had deli ham on it, I expected better quality ham on it to be honest. It wasn't too bad, I liked the crust a lot. While we were there two families left and their outdoor tables were left unwiped and dirty even after being cleared for the rest of the time which was well over 30 minutes for each table before we left. They were not busy at the time we arrived or left, we didn't come at a busy time.

Definitely won't be returning. Even though the food is nice enough the fact that the place is so dirty and unclean is a huge turn off and I feel sick thinking...

This morning me along with my partner decided we would eat out this morning, we both decided to eat at Degani Melton Woodgrove. We both ordered “Royal Egg” after the first couple bites into my food, I could tell that the food was not consistent to how we usually get our Royal Egg, the hollandaise source tast just like margerine no other flavour and it was spread all over the rest of the food, this was defintley not how we remember Royal egg breakfast to be. The eggs were boiled not half cooked or runny. Presentation 5/10 salmon was fine along with the toast not problem. However the source was to much only thing I could taste was margerine spread as if it had been added to the source. Was not something I expect to pay $40 dollars for, in the end we asked if we could have at least half the money back as by this time I was put off eating anything els, she argued that the food is always consistand and did not agree with us. She agreed that the egg was over cooked that was it, I felt upset that they took there time to serve us not straight away after knowing our food was not up to scratch. Instead they continued as if we would just leave.i was persistand to get half our money back at least. All we got was a $10 dollar voucher, I am assuming that degani Melton is under new management and is not the same as before, I remember when Shebaz was running the place, food was great! never ever did I once complain, my whole family friends would enjoy eating there, now it’s like there is no passion in the food or service like they did before, yes sure they serve you but In terms of quality resterant service, out...

Customer service is at an all time low. We usually enjoy going to degani for breakfast- service is usually pretty average but yesterday was awful.

We wanted to sit outside- as the weather was nice. We told the guy we wanted to sit outside and he was getting all confused and tried to get us to sit inside. The chairs outside were everywhere blocking the way of our pram-not managed at all. The guy didnt get us menus. So when our waiter came over 7 minutes later to take our order she realised we never received the menus. My husband got his coffee. But they didnt offer or ask if he wanted sugar with it. So he went inside to grab some sugar. He said a waiter was sitting there staring at him/giving him looks like he was a thief. So he felt awkward. 20 minutes later we got our food, without cutlery so they went back to grab it. I asked about my drink. They said they have been busy so they forgot. Finally got my milkshake half way through my meal. Towards the end of our meal, they put water and glasses on our table.

Waiter did apologise at the end, said its just really busy. I understand it gets a bit busy and im very patient, however, not getting menus or water or sugar for coffee and waiting until near the end of meal for my drink is totally unacceptable. Giving you a 2- only because the food is quite good. Service i would give less than 1...
