Domenicos Pizza & Pastaria, Beer Garden Footscray — Restaurant in Melbourne

I have never posted a review in my life but tonight I am. I always read reviews before I order food from online or go to the restaurant because most people are honest and it sways whether I order or not and tonight I want to do my part and pass on my opinion and help guide others in deciding to order from this place or not. Take it or leave it.

I have ordered previously with Domenicos and didn't have a probably, pizza was fine, nothing to rave about but fine. After a long day I wanted something easy so placed my order and waited. I ordered from Domenicos at 8:30pm....9:35pm came around and my pizza still hadn't arrived I thought there might be a problem...I then rang the restaurant and asked when my food would arrive. A lady by the name of GoGo (not sure as she wasn't very interested and didn't catch the name properly) answered the phone and I told her the situation. She told me they had tried to deliver with no response when they rang the door and rang my phone and they had to return the food but she could send another one out in 45 minutes to one hour.

I was told I would have to wait ANOTHER 45 minutes to 1 hour for one single pizza. And all she kept repeating was that we had tried to deliver but had no response..I told her this was impossible as I had been home all night and nobody had rang the bell or contacted me. She was not interested at all and just wanted to get me off of the phone.

I feel like it's a really poor effort have to wait up to 2 hours for one single pizza because of a lazy delivery person who didn't make any effort to even deliver our food and to not be contacted about the situation.

Besides all of this I don't really care and I don't care about the $20...what I care about is customer service and the lady on the phone has a very low level of customer service. I am sure she is lovely and is a good person but she needs to be taught how to do customer service. Domenicos I recommend you review your staff and maybe some customer service training would be beneficial. If the lady on the phone had been slightly helpful or apologetic and understanding I would have had no problem waiting another hour for my pizza, truly I wouldn't but the way I was treated and spoken to was just very low level customer service...not even caring in the slightest.

The lady tonight on the other end of the phone and is the face of your company as soon as she picks up the phone and she has lost you a customer not the fact I would have had to wait 2 hours for 1 pizza....the lady on the phone is why I will never return to order from you. PLEASE educate your staff on how to talk to customers who spend money at your restaurant. Be aware of this place and expect no help if something goes wrong. Went through a 3rd party and managed to get my money back. Do not recommend this place at all. As I said, I never post reviews but tonight I have been so disgusted with the service I felt I owe it to anyone thinking about ordering from this place. Anyway, I have spent enough energy on...

Pizza is below average quality. The value is ok i suppose, but the taste is poor with too much tomato paste that tastes like it's from a jar. this is not a one off as well I ordered twice and both times the pizza was like this. It's a shame because they have a half decent base, but they ruin it with weird corner/cost cutting like tomato paste from a tub, cheap cheese and just no love in the product just trying to heap on topping to give perceived value. I suggest the owners go visit Melbournes best pizza restaurants and then re-learn how to make the sauce, how much topping to put, what topping to put, and then stop cutting costs, make a better quality pizza and charge more for it. There are too many great pizza places in Melbourne to make...

Doesn’t make a great first impression.

The food - Where do I start 🤦🏻‍♂️ Bland, cheap and nasty ingredients. Simply and obviously cost cutting. (Minus one star)

The service - I arrived in person at 6PM Friday night and I was the only customer in the shop, it should’ve dawned on me right then and there about the quality, and placed my order with some degree of difficulty and confusion. That aside when I returned to collect, again the only customer in sight, it took the staff a further 10 minutes to realialse my pizza had been cooked ready for pick up. (Minus one star)

I paid $16.99 for a large with one extra topping, a small garlic pizza and a can of soft drink so price wise ok - ish. Overall I’d look for a better quality pizza - not...
