Espresso 54 — Restaurant in Melbourne

This cafe is one of the best cafes we have been to in Melbourne. My partner and I have been regulars for the last two years (when they first opened) and every time we are there the place is always rocking! It’s a pretty small place, but it’s cosy and warm and the service is always friendly. Yes it’s slow sometimes but it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that it’s clearly because they are busy!! (And they actually have the best coffee in the area, so if you want good coffee you gotta wait for it!) The food is so underrated! It’s fresh and different to other typical cafes. My partner and I will be moving away soon and we are so disappointed that we can’t take this local cafe with us!! It’s got great food for good value for money and simply just a lovely place to go when you want a friendly chat and a meal. We highly recommend...

I visited this café recently and was shocked to see one young staff member left completely alone to run the entire business during a very busy period with over 20 customers. This worker, who appeared quite young and visibly stressed, was managing orders, preparing food and drinks, and handling everything solo. Not only is this unfair and unsafe, it raises serious questions about whether this kind of staffing is even legal. No employee—especially someone so young—should be placed in that kind of high-pressure, unsupported situation. I genuinely hope this person’s hard work is recognised and that they find a better job where they’re treated with the respect and support...

Well done to the two fabulous workers who were absolutely run off their feet all day at last Sundays car show event. These fine young workers soldiered on all day to provide great coffee and meals for in service and takeaways without stopping all day. We so appreciate your hard work and you should be commended for your wonderful service. Hopefully next time the owner will consider more staff to accomodate such a large event, in saying that you two smashed it!...
