Not much open in Macleod on a Sunday for food and coffee. The coffee I orderedwas good and my friend was happy with her smoothie and croissant.
I ordered Eggs Benedict, I was surprised that I had to pay extra for two eggs. Never in the very many Eggs Benedicts I've had in cafes over the years have I found one egg the norm. Paying for a second egg made the meal more expensive than I'm used to paying (even in Sydney).
The eggs and sauce were done well. The ham tasted weird (there were no other optons i.e. salmon, spinach or bacon). I asked for no bread and the staff offered a hash brown instead which I appreciated as I usually ask for no bread and a substitute is rarely offered. However, the hash brown tasted like hamburger. The meal was dusted with paprika, which I wasn't happy about either. I was hungry so ate it all anyway but not what I would have expected when I ordered, especially at the...
Read moreI am always excited by the word ORGANIC.. it almost always manifests itself in the quality of the dining experience.. My brunch at Mr Macleod today was no exception.. I entered an establishment which instantly made me feel comfortable (which is half the battle won IMO) and was served a perfect coffee by young Jaz who engaged me in polite conversation without being invasive. I then ordered the vegan veggie stack but with a side of bacon and scrambled eggs.. nobody even batted an eyelash at my weird order.. My scrambled eggs were beautifully fluffy (organic eggs yes please!) and the veggie stack was perfectly balanced texturally with just a hint of smoked paprika at the end... I did not encounter a single micro herb, man bun or edible flower... and I left pleased enough write a review about it afterwards.. well done guys!!...

The coffee was excellent, and the breakfast was tasty, accompanied by exceptionally fresh bread. They perfectly accommodated our special requests. The service was swift and friendly, and the interior design and ambiance resembled that of a cozy old country home with lots of colorful paintings on every wall. The only drawback was the banana bread, which, in my opinion, had an uncooked flour taste. They also offer several vegan and gluten-free options. Remarkably, despite the organic offerings, the prices were competitive, if not lower than those of other cafes. I would definitely...
