Original review: Best place for fish and chips in the area. Conveniently it's also the best place for a souvlaki. The spit is amazing!!!!!!

**Update * Typically I don't leave bad reviews, I just vote with my feet but in this instance Im going to do both. Today is Good Friday. Given how busy fish and chip shops typically are on this day, I called on Thursday and placed an order for pick up at 6pm. When I arrived the girl behind the counter told me she didn't know about my order, she didn't take my order or the gentleman's next to me who also preordered ( he had 15 people waiting at home hence why he preordered) When she eventually did find my order it was discovered that it had not been started. When I questioned this as my order was supposed to be ready at 6 she shrugged, said she didn't take my order, it wasn't her fault, they were busy and very clearly did not care.

So I sat, for 20 minutes and waited, watching other people receive their orders, whilst mine was cooked (which is exactly what I was trying to avoid and why I ordered ahead). Whilst I waited I tried to pay for my order. The girl behind the counter told me I couldn't pay for my order as she didn't know what was in it. When I tried to tell her she said I could pay when it was ready and walked off.

When my name was finally called I asked them to check over it, which was lucky as one of my pieces of fish was missing. They then wished me a good night and that they'd see me next time. I walked up the other end of the counter and asked if I could now pay. She then again repeated that she couldn't as she didn't know what I ordered. Again, I tried to tell her, she told me I WAS ATTACKING HER and again walked off. At that point, I was really wishing that I had just left without paying. As I waited again another gentleman came back in with a meat kebab, he ordered fish.

When she came back she then asked me to tell her what was in my order so she could ring it up (fourth try). Her entire attitude was dismissive, there was no responsibility, no apology just a lot of I didn't do it, it's not my problem. There was no comment from the owner either.

Forgetting my order was frustrating. Waiting was annoying. But it was the attitude of the girl behind the counter that got me. Whilst John still cooks great food, he should have stepped in if she was not even capable of apologizing for the mistake. The gentleman who also pre ordered yesterday was still waiting for his order when I left. Another asked me as I walked out, if it too had had a bad experience.

Last night, I headed over to pick up my phone order. After settling my payment at the cashier, the female boss handed me the receipt without saying a word. Unsure of their system, I patiently waited with my hungry children for 20 minutes, watching as each customer received their food and left. It was only then that I realized they had overlooked my order. Considering it was a busy evening, I could understand some mistakes happening. However, it became unacceptable when they not only made an error but also blamed me and were quite rude about it. After receiving the food from the male boss, he walked away and called me stupid. The food itself was far from amazing, and I wouldn't feel like I'm missing out on something if I never ate there again. In the future, when we're not in the mood to cook, we'll opt for takeout from the neighboring place. Their pizza and pasta are excellent, and their service...

I had an extremely disappointing experience at this establishment. The service was outright pathetic, and the staff, particularly the owner, was rude from the start. As a regular customer who frequently orders the chicken tray, I expect to be treated with basic respect, but instead, I was met with an unprofessional attitude and unnecessary hostility.

Beyond the poor service, the quality of the food was also subpar. The meat had a strong, unpleasant smell and did not taste fresh. Given these issues, I can no longer trust the quality of their products and will not be purchasing from this place again.
