Express Pizza-Pasta Bar — Restaurant in Melbourne

Food is here is really really food. Very underrated. Easily the top 5 pizzas in Melbourne, minus all the flashy awards and banners that most pizza joints boast usually, which ends up being average and overpriced.

This little humble pizza store called express delivers the goods without the BS.

I eat pizzas almost every 2nd day. Always on the venture for the best pizza in Melbourne. Been to many, they claim the title, but as a commercial restaurant cannot deliver the same consistent delicious pizzas.

THIS IS IT! You must try the gnocchi 4 cheese pasta with added salami or prosciutto and the carbonara pizza! Absolute heaven. Compeltlry different if you eat in versus delivery.

Wait times can be really really long.. Warning. We waited about 60 minutes while seeing delivery and takeaway orders going out first. Priority could be switched over to in house customers first.. Only issue here..

Left waiting at a table even after being told someone would be with us to take our orders. Eventually had to go to counter to make our order. Waited for some time so asked where our entree (cold meat platter, so no cooking required) This then came out (must've been forgotten) at the same time with our mains. Entree was a mix of 2 different platters (not just the one I ordered) so a bit confused by that. Wife's salad looked like a lot of ingredients just tossed into a bowel, very bland, little taste. With my Catania pizza I struggled to find more than 4 or 5 little pieces of the chicken. Lucky I had so much cold meat from the platter so I tore that and spread on my pizza. They were good enough to give us a free dessert because of the delay in getting the meals out. Apart from the lack of chicken, the pizza tasted every bit as good as Zero95's reputation suggests but overall poor experience and won't go back to that...

TERRIBLE SERVICE- WAITED 1.5 HOURS FOR OUR DINNER. We came here for a birthday with a booking for 8 people. Lady who was serving us, who may have been brand new at her job and was left unsupervised with little experience, kept forgetting our drinks. All good people make mistakes. We ordered entrees, which came out pretty quick. We then proceeded to wait 1.5 hours for our mains, and I later discovered that the reason was because the lady forgot to put them through the till. At this point we were famished. I spoke to the owner who then gave me excuses like we have been really busy with Uber eats etc to which I explained that if you have a restaurant that seats a number of people, then you should be able to cater for those in-house. He barely apologised and offered us dessert. The lady did not apologise or anything until she realised that we were there for a birthday. Should have taken out hundreds of dollars and gone...
