Had gone with a friend for dinner on a Monday night and as expected, there were hardly any diners. But we loved the hospitality where we were given suggestions on what we could have and feedback on the food was also sought, twice.. Now coming to the food. Biriyani was pretty good.. Goat was tender..we wanted order a fish curry but decided against it when we learnt that they have only basa fish.. So ended up opting for prawn vindaloo.. However! The prawn vindaloo was a bit below average, the potatoes had a mild strange taste to it while the curry tastes like a pickle.. Too much of spices and tamarind. Or something. We finished dinner with kheer and gulab jamun which was quite good. Over all a good place to visit but your experience will depend on what your order..

Before posting my review on Google I sent feedback directly to Fatima’s via email. After a week I’ve had no reply other than an automated email asking for a review. Well here it’s it. We order occasionally because Fatima’s has been the best of an average few we have choice of. The pickle side was horrible and I threw it out. I’ve attached photos of what they show on the website and what was delivered. Not even close to the same dish. If it tasted nice I’d be ok. But it was inedible. We also ordered a prawn malabari curry. Won’t order that again either. Generally mush with a few tasteless prawns. Overall sadly it was an unsatisfying meal and I’m unlikely to ever order from Fatima’s again.

We came with my friends for my belated birthday dinner. Food for sumptuous and spice just nice at medium level. Naan was crisp and tasty. The mushroom curry was indeed well made. Have to say the plates and bowls were all emptied to the last grain of our fav prawn briyani. Owner Altaff and his hardworking asst Miss Harnith were both friendly, constantly checking on our meal experience and with quick service. Will recommend friends and will go again with family.

Tonight I went to pick up our order and the Butter Chicken was missed. There are two issues with this: When picking it up, I stopped her and asked her to double-check the order to make sure it was all present. Unfortunately she lied to me and said she'd done that. When I got home and discovered the missing dish, I tried to call the mobile number advertised. Unfortunately the service hangs up on anyone trying to (be transferred and) speak with the restaurant. So I made the 15 minute drive back to the Glen Iris store. She apologised, of course, and I suggested that she should look at my wife's account and 'make this right'. She did nothing. 1 star rating: I simply hate being lied to. And not having any way to contact the store...

Recently discovered Fathima's Indian Kitchen a few months ago and have been hooked ever since. The special butter chicken can only be described as extremely decadent and dangerously addictive. Its not only generously portioned but its packed with rich, creamy and luxurious flavours which strikes the perfect balance of sweet and savoury notes. The sweet cheesy naan is also an incredible accompaniment to the curry and enhances the flavour even more. Each piece of naan is fat, juicy and stuffed to the brim with delicious gooey cheese promising a powerhouse of flavour with every bite. Its definetely a must try. As well as incredible food, the staff are all very friendly and attentive and always ensure you feel welcome. 10/10 Highly...
