My daughter hit her eyebrow on a gap in the staircase at this restaurant — a dangerous triangular protrusion — and started bleeding heavily. I quickly pressed a tissue on her wound and ran to ask the staff for help. One lady gave me a band-aid. When I said I needed to take a photo for the emergency doctor, a staff member told me, “You need to look after your children.”
As a mother, I was heartbroken and angry. Instead of helping us in an emergency, the staff blamed me. This restaurant has a serious safety hazard on its stairs and shows very unprofessional behaviour.
Reply to the owner: Thank you for your reply, but I must clarify that your description of what happened is not accurate. After my daughter fell and hit her head in your courtyard, there was no real first aid offered — unless handing me a single band-aid counts as first aid. I was the one frantically trying to find a way to help my injured child, while your staff stood by, unsure what to do.
One of your team members came to the courtyard and, instead of offering comfort or practical help, stood there and told me to “look after your children”— at a time when I was already panicked, holding my bleeding daughter, and rushing to take her to the hospital. That cold, condescending attitude was deeply hurtful and made an already traumatic moment even worse.
I understand accidents can happen anywhere, but what truly matters is how people respond. In this case, there was no warmth, no genuine care, and certainly no sense of responsibility. I hope you will take this as an opportunity to train your staff on how to properly assist customers — especially when a child is injured — rather than rewriting events...
Read moreUnfortunately my first time at Mr Burton wasn't great. We had made a booking using an app and when I arrived for the booking time, they told me we didn't have a booking and we were going to be treated like a walk in customer and to come back in 45 minutes unless we wanted to sit outside. There was a group of 5 of us and they didn't seem keen to have us at all, with one of our party being on crutches due to a knee injury we couldn't wait outside for 45 minutes. So then I went back inside and said we would take their offer of an outside table and she said to me 'yeah but it's wet from the rain' - there was a moments silence and she said 'well I can wipe it down if you want' and I said, well yeah, if you are going to offer an outside table, I would have assumed it was actually somewhere where we can sit? Just young people running the front of house that have no care for the business or customers, I drover over 45 minutes to come meet my friends to celebrate a homecoming, but we just went to another venue down the road and were treated beautifully! It's not hard people. Not...
Read moreMy first negative google review: I don't eat pork, among other things. The menu seemed quite clear on what was in each item and I picked a chicken burger. After a couple of bites I realised there was a rasher of bacon in there. I was pretty disappointed. Even though most people would be happy with bonus bacon, I wasn't. I raised this to the waitress who then questioned if I'd read the menu properly. I said I had then she replied she'd get back to me. She did not return to our table at all. 20 minutes or so later I went out to the front and she tried her best to ignore me, including walking past us after she had been having a laugh with her colleagues. I then asked if she checked the menu and she said she had, admitted it wasn't in there, and gave a fairly insincere sorry before walking off. Should've been a good experience and the food was otherwise pretty tasty but I was really let down by...
