Ferntree Charcoal Chicken & Kebabs — Restaurant in Melbourne

We have been coming here for about a year now...great chicken and chips but very poor customer service. Countless times I have turned up at 12.00 but no chickens are ready!! Asked to come back in 30 to 40 minutes?? Also yesterday was the 2nd time I have ordered 1/2 chicken and chips, asked for chicken to be cut up,but it wasn't!! And they weren't even busy...chips portions could be a bit bigger. Kebabs are poorly made with very little meat..starting to loose my patients with this mob. Just did a phone order. Was told order would be ready by 12 30. I turn up , no chickens are ready. Told another 15 mins or so. If these people can't organise their food to be ready when they say it will be what is the point of ordering?? Take my business to Studfield Charcoal chicken from now on.... Due to the owners response we decided to give them another go yesterday. Turned up and ordered 1/2 chicken and chips. Asked to wait 10 mins (chicken ready but waiting for chips) 3 other customers in the store. 2 people serving. Come back in 10 mins and they are smiling at me. I said I am waiting for my half chicken and chips, they say yes and then put the chips on !! W.T.F...? And not much chips in the serve either. Sorry owner,but these guys have no idea what they...

This place is called "Ferny charcoal chicken, pizza and souvlaki" despite the name on the outside of the building saying "Ferntree charcoal chicken and kebabs'. New sign maybe...?

I've had a lot of overcooked chips here, fried beyond belief so they are just a crispy shell with no potato left inside. Tonight I'm updating this review because I waited 20min for medium chips & 2 nuggets. Not at all busy. Chips have no potato left inside & were salted as I watched THREE TIMES! They are inedible. The lady tried to charge me double for nuggets too. 'the price has gone up but I haven't updated my menu'.

I tried garlic prawns here recently. For $19 I won't again. They came with chips & salad, but the salad was removed on the last menu print. Without salad this meal would be far too bland. The prawns were mini ones and were cooked from frozen. Overcooked, hard & chewy. The sauce was really nice but it was all over every chip. Would be nicer to the side.

Really need improvement. We'll be going to Tecoma...

DO NOT GO HERE!!!! Worst experience ever! Ordered chicken n chips, returned it immediately as the chips were the soaked through with oil. I suggested the oil may have not been hot enough when she put the chips on, but obviously the customer can’t be right - she kept arguing with me and trying to justify how they were cooked. I asked for a refund for the difference for the chips, which she did, but couldn’t leave it there and proceeded to give me attitude. I said I don’t need your attitude, just keep it and refund the lot and she yelled at me to get out of the shop. Awful customer service, I will never be back! They don’t deserve customers with poor practice and...
