Lovely looking bakery, limited items available. Would have loved to try a sausage roll but they were all black! Burned to a cinder! When I questioned the server she said “oh, it’s because they are pickled” Huh???? Honey, they are burned to a crisp! Nothing left but charcoal!! & I’m sorry, pickling sausage rolls? I’m confused!! Bought a brownie, which was tasty, but an extremely small serving

Update!! Went in again weeks after the review & reply, to see if the case of the cremated sausage rolls had been remedied……. Nope! Same sad, blackened offerings & a girl at the counter assuring me that they weren’t burnt! Tried to explain that pastry should be golden, not looking like it’s returned from a trip to the furnace!! The frustrated cashier seemed positive that I had no idea what I was talking about! First lesson in cheffing, don’t burn pastry! It tastes really bad! On a positive note though! My Partner and I have stopped buying bread from Supermarkets or other chains that promote their product to be good for you since we found this little hidden gem. We travel 1 hour every couple of weeks to get bread supplies from them and freeze them. What better way to enjoy your day than a trip to the Firebrand bakery. It specialises in soughdough breads but does also have a lovely range of pastries and flourless cakes which vary from day to day. And all baked in a wood-fired oven:)

My favourite bread is their spicy fruit loaf and their fruit scones are great for afternoon tea:)

Service is terrific...they even came out and opened the door for me when pushing a pram!

Its well worth a trip (any day...
