Was sooo hyped to try the Almond Croissants here after seeing they were awarded by a food guide blog as Melbourne's best. With only 2 days mid week to head out, we made our way up and missed both windows on both days, they were sold out! Thankfully I pre-ordered for the Friday and finally got a chance to try these acclaimed Croissants.

I'm sad to say that after so many years documenting my quest for Australia's best Almond Croissants, Zelda left me incredibly disappointed. It was very deflated, almost somewhat moist and the 2 halves didn't even hold together from the limited frangipani filling, alongside not having the airiness and flakiness you'd want in the perfect bake, each bite was somewhat one dimensional and lacked depth and layers. Maybe it was poor batch, but nonetheless I don't see any potential in meeting the standard of say... Artisan, Baker Bleu, Monforte, Cheri, Lune etc

On the positive, the choc babka, fruit palette and the cheese danish were delicious and worth a visit. Nonetheless, I'm glad many like their Almond Croissants as they never fail to sell out! Just a personal...

I think it is very popular ONLY because there is a limited availability of the quality Kosher products. When they first opened the quality was fairly good. However, as of this week they made the Challahs much smaller in size, they dropped the quality and they took away the pricing information from their website, they do not give you a receipt and I cannot see the the prices when they are being put into the computer. They only tell you the total amount. I've asked for the apple crumble, the lady repeated that she is giving it to me but it was not in my bag. I have NO way of knowing if I was actually charged for it or not as I cannot find out the prices of the individual items.

The Challahs became smaller (not sure what's the price is like), the cinnamon buns used to be beautiful but this week there is barely any cinnamon there. And it is highly inappropriate to...

This is the best bakery in Melbourne, in my opinion. To the chefs that make the pastries, the cakes, the breads fresh everyday: Thank you for putting so much of your time and effort to perfect your skill and enrich our community. To the FOH, I appreciate your kindness so much. I always feel so welcome by you and it amazes me you keep a smile on your face while explaining probably for the 1000th time all the different goodies you have on offer with such class and patience. I'm a big dessert eater and I find myself discovering new pastries and cakes, textures and flavours every time I stop by. Know that your work, whatever you do in this shop, is incredibly appreciated ♡ (ps: your choc babka is one of the best foods I've ever had! please never stop...

A pretty nice bakery with a wide variety of goods. I ordered the 1. Mushroom Bun - Basic filling but buttery and flaky on the outside. 2. Sweet Potato Quiche. I like sweet potato. 3. Chai and Vanilla Donut. 4. Brioche with pear. 5. Vegan Babka - Not reallyy thing. 6. Pistachio Cardamom cake - My second favourite thing and would definetly visit again for it. Soft and Moist. Everything you expect it to be. 7. Apple Pie - Top tier, loved it... but I could be a little biased as it reminded of appelflappen from when I studied in The Netherlands. 8. Fougasse - wanted to get the foccacia but they only serve those on Wednesdays. All in all definetly deserved the 15-20 min wait. Worth a visit.

Ohh boy I’m in trouble. The line was short today so I decided to stop by and by a poppyseed slice. As I was standing there, looking at the pastries and the bread while the traffic passed by I made my mind up that I will buy a whole circle of poppy. Lucky to me it was one available. As I got my poopy tart I realize it’s like 2 kilo. Anyhow cut the long story short. At home I started with a slice and within no time I ate majority of it -the rest wasn’t enough to put on the table for dinner. Ohh my. It’s delicious. Go peeps try it out, but buy 2. I had other things as well since opening, but this is my absolute favorite. Keep up the good work. Cheers.
