Glenroy Star Restaurant — Restaurant in Melbourne

Star Restaurant had the most incredible Vietnamese food. Absolutely huge serving sizes - never in my life have I had to take home entrees (36° evening, we ordered 4 entrees to pick at) The staff were super friendly and obviously take a great deal of pride for the dishes they create.

We had the spring rolls, the sesame prawn toast, the honey BBQ pork (so moist, juicy and flavoursome!) and the rice paper rolls which were HUGE (and delicious).

This restaurant is inside the Glenroy Bowls Club which can be a little confusing, but just around the back near ATC Reserve and you're all good from there. Plenty of parking too.

$12 All day Thursday specials too for any dish and rice.

Glenroy Star Restaurant is Glenroy's hidden gem for a warm winter food.

We ordered wonton soup, rice paper roll and beef phos.

Usually most restaurants have a lousy wonton soup that is either tasteless or full on MSG. The flavour here is balanced and flavourful.

The real highlight of this place here is the beef pho. The beef meat is very tender and the soup is really delicious!

The owner is very friendly and service is very good. The atmosphere of the place is also good. Don't expect a fine dining atmosphere here, but this place has a charm and the atmosphere is warm and inviting.

The food is also well priced and for the quality of the food this is amazing!

This is hands down one of the most authentic Vietnamese restaurants we've been to—not just in the area, but across all surrounding suburbs. The owner puts genuine pride and care into every aspect of the experience, from the warm, welcoming service to the meticulous cleanliness of the venue.

The food is always fresh, flavourful, and made with incredible attention to detail. You can truly taste the authenticity in every bite, whether it’s the richly layered pho, perfectly balanced bún, or the crisp, vibrant herbs that accompany each dish.

The atmosphere feels like a slice of Vietnam—unpretentious, comforting, and full of heart. We always leave full, happy, and already planning our next visit. Could not recommend it...
