Good Fella's Fish and Chip Cafe — Restaurant in Melbourne

Not gonna lie and be very honest about my review. The signage & name of the place #1 (selling point why i walked in there) the customer service is very good and spot on! However, the food: I ordered x2 burger deals. ($10) Either a Hamburger Or Schnitz burger / chips + can of drink. For $10 i guess you pay for what you get? Not sure how the hamburger was, however i personally had the schnitz burger.. the schnitz was overcooked or suspected to be an old stock and put back onto the deep fryer :/ it was dark brown (almost black) ... such a shame because was actually looking forward to enjoying it. Unfortunately couldn't finish the burger as it wasn't the greatest. (not gonna take pictures and upload it as i don't want to ruin their online reputation) - future note for the owner: you should consider either a) changing the oil b) not re-heating old stock and selling it c) keep an eye on oil temp. I haven't tried their pizza so can not put a review on this, i'm sure their pizzas are done with better quality. This is an honest and constructive criticism which i hope will be taken in for...

As a Local to the area I can say the constant topic of conversation has been the poor quality food in the area and lack of variety in take out shop's..... Unfortunately the quality of the flake (fish) and improper cooking of said flake has been a constant error and disappointment, not to mention the price of the flake was recently raised after I had mentioned to a worker over the counter another shop was selling their flake for the price you've just raised your flake to .... Bit Fishy mate! Anyway I believe the quality of the flake would be worth $13 price hike if only it wasn't FAKE FLAKE ...honestly at this point Locals are irritated that you've raised your prices yet haven't matched it with Quality produce/product ... So yeah honestly maybe just give it a miss and order a shitty quality pizza from...

Placed a phone order and when I got there they were in the process of making the burgers. I went up to the counter and Michelle said I'll be with you in a minute and turned to the person beside me and served them. So I thought maybe she knows I'm here to pick up so I sat down. 20 mins later still hadn't been acknowledged or spoken to. Finally went up to the counter and somehow Michelle new I was there to pick up the order and brought over my food from the Bain-Marie. Absolutely appalling the lack of customer service they provide and for this reason I will refuse to go back there!!! How could you run a business and treat your regular customers like that? Disgusting!!! If you hate your job that much you shouldn't be in hospitality!
