Terrible Experience - Check your bill before paying!!
I had an absolutely dreadful experience at The Great Eastern Hakka recently and I feel compelled to share it with others. I can sum up my visit in two words: poor customer service and overcharging.
I have dined here numerous times and the food is delicious but this time the service was very poor. I ordered a simple dish, but what I received was completely different. It was as if they had mixed up the orders in the kitchen. When I brought this to their attention, they displayed a shocking lack of professionalism and I had to show the Menu and point to the item ordered. I was given a replacement dish which was correct but when I finished and went to pay at the counter, I was charged for the wrong dish as well. I had to argue once again to get the bill corrected, but the staff at counter insisted that I have to pay for both dishes as someone at the table had already eaten a piece from it.
The combination of poor customer service and the incorrect charges made for an infuriating dining experience. I had expected a pleasant meal but left with a sour taste in my mouth. It's clear that customer satisfaction is not a priority at this establishment. I would strongly advise others to think twice before dining here, as you might end up with a similar...
Read moreWorst customer service and really disappointing experience on Motherâs Day. When we entered at 6:40,before offering a table to customer to sit -waiter mentioned to finish our dinner at 7:30 sharp saying they have another bookingâŚ.then She kept the menu on the table with little note-minimum spend $20 per person, which was unbelievable and so rude. At 7:15 we were almost finished eating , and she again came and reminded us to finish at 7:30, I said we are already done and itâs 7:20 and u donât worry .. so still 10 minutes⌠we left the table immediately at 7:22. 80% tables were empty, when we were eatingâŚstill they made us finished earlyâŚ.restaurant was not busy at all. REMEMBER-YOU WERE NOT FEEDING US FOR FREE. We spent $130 for 3 peopleâs dinnerâŚ.without mentioning they charged 10% extra $13 for service charge on Sunday which no services business have ever asked before. The owner started screaming from the kitchen when my husband asked why itâs extra service charged for Sundays? As a business owner we donât charge from my customersâŚ.. and no one charges in Australia. We Really had bad experience on Motherâs Day dinner⌠would never ever recommend this place to anyone. If thereâs a option to give 0 star , I would...
Read moreOrdered chow fun with assorted garden veges for $21. Arrived with barely any veges, meagre portion of carrots, red capsicum and green beans. Charcoal wok flavour nice but bit bland.
Manchurian paneer pizza cost $31 and was soggy, unpleasant to eat so didn't finish. When asked if we wanted to finish it, I replied, "no thanks, it's too soggy" to be met with "oh" from the waitress as she walked off with it.
Won't be returning. Overpriced.

Thank you. I didnât mention the taste of the Manchurian pizza in my original reviewâit actually sounded delicious, which is why we were keen to try it. Unfortunately, the soggy base and the sauce dripping while eating made it a bit difficult to enjoy. I understand that some customers may really like soggy pizza but it just wasnât to our liking.
As for the rice noodles, appreciate that prices havenât increased. We still felt the dish didnât offer great value. It contained what felt like the most meagre amount of vegetables we've ever encountered in a vegetarian noodle dish. I don't recall tasting any corn or chives and I didn't mention the onions as they were standard. Overall, underwhelming.
You have plenty of happy customers, it just wasnât the...
