Terrible Experience - Check your bill before paying!!

I had an absolutely dreadful experience at The Great Eastern Hakka recently and I feel compelled to share it with others. I can sum up my visit in two words: poor customer service and overcharging.

I have dined here numerous times and the food is delicious but this time the service was very poor. I ordered a simple dish, but what I received was completely different. It was as if they had mixed up the orders in the kitchen. When I brought this to their attention, they displayed a shocking lack of professionalism and I had to show the Menu and point to the item ordered. I was given a replacement dish which was correct but when I finished and went to pay at the counter, I was charged for the wrong dish as well. I had to argue once again to get the bill corrected, but the staff at counter insisted that I have to pay for both dishes as someone at the table had already eaten a piece from it.

The combination of poor customer service and the incorrect charges made for an infuriating dining experience. I had expected a pleasant meal but left with a sour taste in my mouth. It's clear that customer satisfaction is not a priority at this establishment. I would strongly advise others to think twice before dining here, as you might end up with a similar...

Worst customer service and really disappointing experience on Mother’s Day. When we entered at 6:40,before offering a table to customer to sit -waiter mentioned to finish our dinner at 7:30 sharp saying they have another booking….then She kept the menu on the table with little note-minimum spend $20 per person, which was unbelievable and so rude. At 7:15 we were almost finished eating , and she again came and reminded us to finish at 7:30, I said we are already done and it’s 7:20 and u don’t worry .. so still 10 minutes… we left the table immediately at 7:22. 80% tables were empty, when we were eating…still they made us finished early….restaurant was not busy at all. REMEMBER-YOU WERE NOT FEEDING US FOR FREE. We spent $130 for 3 people’s dinner….without mentioning they charged 10% extra $13 for service charge on Sunday which no services business have ever asked before. The owner started screaming from the kitchen when my husband asked why it’s extra service charged for Sundays? As a business owner we don’t charge from my customers….. and no one charges in Australia. We Really had bad experience on Mother’s Day dinner… would never ever recommend this place to anyone. If there’s a option to give 0 star , I would...

Ordered chow fun with assorted garden veges for $21. Arrived with barely any veges, meagre portion of carrots, red capsicum and green beans. Charcoal wok flavour nice but bit bland.

Manchurian paneer pizza cost $31 and was soggy, unpleasant to eat so didn't finish. When asked if we wanted to finish it, I replied, "no thanks, it's too soggy" to be met with "oh" from the waitress as she walked off with it.

Won't be returning. Overpriced.

Thank you. I didn’t mention the taste of the Manchurian pizza in my original review—it actually sounded delicious, which is why we were keen to try it. Unfortunately, the soggy base and the sauce dripping while eating made it a bit difficult to enjoy. I understand that some customers may really like soggy pizza but it just wasn’t to our liking.

As for the rice noodles, appreciate that prices haven’t increased. We still felt the dish didn’t offer great value. It contained what felt like the most meagre amount of vegetables we've ever encountered in a vegetarian noodle dish. I don't recall tasting any corn or chives and I didn't mention the onions as they were standard. Overall, underwhelming.

You have plenty of happy customers, it just wasn’t the...

Is there a way to give them 10/5? The most delicious Chinese food! If you have eaten Indo Chinese food in Kolkata and are yearning for it in a far away land, this place will hit the spot! It’s THE MOST delicious version of Asian food and brought back childhood memories of eating Chinese food with family in Kolkata! The staff were very attentive and the location is great given there is ample parking near the restaurant. I was only able to take photos of half the dishes we ordered and half eaten dishes because ,of course!, we just dived into the delicious food as soon as they arrived. We will keep coming back! Thank you for the tastiest Chinese food in Australia!! ❤️ A note of caution for those looking for Delhi style Indo-Chinese street food - this place might disappoint. Their flavours are more subtle with out the typical Indian masala - thank goodness for that 😁

We had ordered a Chicken Manchurian pizza, Chicken fried rice and chicken in garlic sauce. Overall, we were disappointed with what was delivered. The chicken fried rice looked like it had a portion of frozen veggies from the supermarkets put in the rice. Those cubes of carrots and other veggies mixed in looked very familiar to how we get the at the supermarkets. The garlic sauce for the chicken tasted nothing like garlic but felt more like a tomato based gravy. The pizza had a hearty price tag but barely had 2 chicken pieces per piece and was topped with chopped onion and coriander. For a $20 pizza, that’s what we got! P.s. the gravy and the rice had more quantity than what you can see in the photos
