Gym Chicken — Restaurant in Melbourne

A friend brought me to Gym Chicken. It is a casual little joint that sells some great fried chicken. There's ample parking out the front and a few tables for seating, though I think they cater more for takeaway. The menu has quite a good variety of chicken pieces, burgers, wraps combos and they also offer a few vegetarian options. They also have halal certified food.

The boneless chicken pieces were cooked fresh and because they use thigh, it was super juicy and delicious. Well seasoned and the batter was crunchy. The portions are sizeable and we were super full after sharing 10 pieces of boneless chicken with a portion family of wedges between 3 adults. In fact, we ended up taking some pieces home.

The owner and staff are very friendly and we didn't have to wait long for our order. Pricing is decent as I felt we got good bang for buck, given serving size and when compared with some Korean fried chicken places.

Next time I come, I think I'll try their wrap. Would definitely recommend everyone come and give this place a try if you are looking for good, well cooked...

Finally after living a few hundred metres from it I tried the chicken wrap. Wow. Tender juicy chicken with a crunchy batter topped with a small portion of onions and lettuce. Not overly sauced but just enough as to not wet the wrap. I bought four and it was $12 for one. Everyone that ate with me loved the spicy sauces wrap and said it was way better than kfc wraps. Unfortunately I couldn’t give the chips five stars. A bit disappointing with the lack of chicken salt. The plain salt was bit too seasoned and I had to shake off most of it. Preparation was quick and service without a smile was typical for the local eateries here. Next time I’ll review the gum chicken meals or deals. After hearing a heap from friends myself and my dad went down to try what we got told was some amazing chicken and man they were right. The moment a walked in and were ready to order a young man assisted us with amazing manners and helped us to our food right away whilst engaging in fun conversation. After ordering some boneless chicken we ordered the spicy grilled chicken burger and wow. Ive never tasted a chicken burger so flavoursome. A very good option for those who can't handle a whole heap of oil but still want the beautiful taste of the spicy boneless chicken.
