I really have never had bad experienced at this cafe. Dropped in the other day. Now l never make coffee at home and l never get take away. I always pay the extra sit down and mostly have 2 coffees . This day I thought I would have muffin as well. I paid on arrival because the girl was at the pay station on the way in. She advised the total amount was 12.80 Now I am happy to pay for quality but l was surprised. Coffee 5.50 muffin and surcharge. Ok let's see if this is value or a donation. The muffin was just ok Banana and chocolate. Fair size but very little chocolate and mildly bananery. The coffee was not as good as previous. And here's the game changer for me. Happy to be called out on this but the coffee was short of full. Not even a sip short l know . But this is a $5.5 cuppa and l was expecting greatness. This was a donation. The girls were doing there best. But no supervision. I didn't want another coffee. And l wanted to leave Quickly. And probably never to return. Plus l am writing about my experience. I want you to try this cafe. You must go Try for yourself. The coffee prices are going up everywhere so this is industry forces . Also I will pay $6 or 7 for a great muffin but not an average one. PS . I was in a very good mood walking into this cafe. But annoyed...

I spent a wonderful weekend in the seaside town of Mordialloc and visited this super Instagrammable cafe.

Just a heads up, there are several cafes with the same/similar name, so make sure you visit the right one. Originally a 1950s carpet factory, it’s now a spacious, open local favorite with white walls, black accents, and light wood decor.

Highlights: Coconut-flavored coffee and batch brew from Moccamaster are a must-try. Besides coffee, they also offer Matcha Maiden (green tea lattes), Golden Grind turmeric blend lattes, and Prana Chai.

Dishes I tried:

Crab Toast: Fresh crab meat paired with creamy avocado, sweet tomatoes, and a slight kick from spring onions. The caviar adds a luxurious touch.

Queensland Prawn Linguine: Two ladies ordered this, so we followed suit. The preserved lemon’s aroma and tartness brightened the dish. The prawns, capers, and chili added a subtle spice. It was but slightly rich towards the end.

Humpty Doo Barramundi Fillet: Thai curry with rich coconut milk. The fish was tender and juicy, with a nice blend of spices, Thai fragrant rice, and coriander.

The Pork Belly and Steak Frites also...

I came here to try it after seeing the recommendation, but I was so disappointed. Two people ordered 3 dishes, all of which were not delicious. The crab toast did not taste like crab at all. A piece of toast with a little seasoned avocado mash was priced at $26, and both the taste and flavor were not worth the price. I asked the waiter why it was so different from before, and the reason given was that the chef had changed. The fried squid salad, the squid was fresh, but the dishes below were all stale cabbage leaves. I don’t know if it was to cover up the stale taste or the chef’s creativity. The very, very strong smell of ginger almost covered up all other flavors. The salmon steak was the most expensive, and it was also a waste of merit. The salmon had no taste at all. I can’t describe whether it was delicious or not, because it had no taste at all. The environment was good, there were not many service staff, and their attitude was okay.
