Exceptional.

Hansa means happy in Thai - and we were... very.

We read the reviews about the service, food, and atmosphere and decided to stop in for dinner on our way home from a day on the peninsula with friends from Thailand. We had a fantastic evening. First, our Cyprian waitress... what brilliant service. She quickly took orders for our kids and the meals came out first We then ordered, and soon afterwards a tasting plate arrived along with wine. We had the steak night special, along with a wagu porterhouse, confit duck with risotto, and salmon, chips and salads. You will see from the pictures that everything looks fairly simple. However, the pictures can not convey the quality of the food. The steaks were among the best I have ever had. Simple but perfect. We had bought truffles on the peninsula, and without hesitation, our waitress had the chef dress our wagyu with a portion of the truffle. It was magnificent.

The kids then enjoyed gelato, while we enjoyed the "30" Shiraz - which was included with steak night dinner, and was a great match in quality and taste with all the meals.

I dined here again tonight expecting to enjoy a meal as I usually do, but I had a surprisingly unpleasant time.

My partner and I’s steaks were overcooked but we did not complain, we were still happy to eat it. However the hostess came over several times asking how my steak was, as I got a slightly poor cut with a lot of fat and sinew, but I did not complain and said it was okay.

At the end of my meal she came over to our table again, and in a shockingly rude tone interrupted our conversation and criticised the cut I ordered and told me what I should have ordered when taking into consideration how cooked I like my steak. Everyone at the table was shocked, and I was really upset that she would speak to someone like that.

If this was said in a kinder tone at the end of the meal when we were paying or just at any other - more appropriate - time then it would have been received as kind advise. But that was not the case. I am very disappointed, as this was previously my favourite steak restaurant and I enjoyed dining here.

We recently celebrated my husband's 70th birthday at Hansa's Steak & Grill for a Saturday lunch, and the experience was nothing short of fantastic. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the warm and inviting atmosphere, setting the perfect tone for a special occasion.
