If you want to wait 20-40 minutes for a soggy bagel this is your place.
I’m a New Yorker. They used to do a decent bagel, now they seem soggy but still better than most places in Melbourne. When it’s not busy it takes like 15 minutes for a bagel, which as a starting point takes a long time. As soon this place gets a little busy they struggle to keep up with the orders. And I don’t mean a little struggle, I mean pretty much a meltdown struggle. At the moment I’ve been waiting 25 minutes from the time I’ve ordered for a bagel, and counting. This would never happen anywhere else. So I’m asking myself why. You seem to have a lot of people working really hard to make bagels. This morning I’ve figured out why. At most bagel places the person who takes the order for your bagel also makes bagel. Here you’ve got a production line of people and some of these people, 3 at the moment actually, are literally standing around waiting for something to happen. Anyway thought I’d mention it as I pick up my bagel 30 minutes after my order was placed.
My advice is at least double the amount of space for making the bagels out the front. The majority of your counter is used for ordering which makes zero sense and does not help with the production of making bagels in a timely manner at all. Then you could easily have everyone at the front focus on taking orders and...
Read moreWe usually come here and its normaly great. I dont know if it's new management or something. This time I had ordered mine online and it totally got stuffed up saying that I wanted peanut butter on my salmon bagles, also wouldn't let me chose plain bagles I don't know what happened but I tried calling and no answer. So I went in told them the problem calmly, thinking we can sort this out, but because they were already made I will have to pay for new bagles aswell as the ones that were already made because I STUFFED UP she said very rude and dismissive. I had an order that was $69 dollars and I was suppose to pay another 69 for new ones.. "you should have called" she said, I then said "I did you didn't answer" and she replied with "well we are too bust we can't always answer" 🤷♀️she was apparently the manager and owner so pretty disappointed with the service. She then agreed to re make only 2 of my bagles (making sure to tell me she's doing me a favour) but were...
Read moreFirst time I came in here it was 2:30pm so I was not surprised when the only bagel left was cinnamon and raisins. I still ordered the #2 Ham and the #1 Salmon on the bagels and they tasted quite complementary with the sweet bagel (cinnamon and raisins were not overpowering). My second time I placed an order on Skip. When I went to pick up my order, it was ready, which was great, no time wasted. The staff were friendly. My only issue is that once I got home, I did not get what I ordered. I even double checked my Skip history to see what I had ordered. I ordered the Autumn Breakfast on the Garlic, Salt, and Rosemary bagel, and a #3 Chicken Aioli on the pizza bagel. When I got home I had Chicken Aioli on BOTH bagels. I'd understand if they didn't have the Autumn Breakfast available but no one mentioned anything about it to me when I picked it up. It would've been nice knowing or having the option to choose a...
