Le Roi Cafe — Restaurant in Melbourne

We are locals to the area and we see a lot people with there yellow T/A cups so we thought we would give them a try. We didn’t feel welcome. Bit of attitude from staff. We ordered our coffees and said we would wait outside so we respectfully wouldn’t be in the way. We saw the waitress bring many takeaway orders out to people but not ours. After a wait we found our coffees sitting on the inside bench getting cold. Yeah thanks mate. We respected your space. Would’ve been nice if you did the same for us with good customer service. Obviously, you don’t want new local customers. Good luck.

Response to owner: Had it occurred to you we may well be hearing impaired. Your comments are offensive, dismissive and alientating. Though I thank you for your response as not only have you shown the community you have a bad attitude towards customers you also don't foster inclusivity and understanding in your cafe. You will need to sell a bit more than a few coffees in yellow cups...

IF YOU ARE ALLERGIC OR ANAPHYLACTIC TO ANYTHING, DO NOT EAT HERE UNLESS YOU WANT A TRIP TO THE HOSPITAL! I cannot stress this enough! I am anaphylactic to nuts and sesame and asked about both for the corn hash Brown, was told there was neither. It had a “beetroot purée” on it. After questioning the owner again, I was told it had beetroot and hummus in it (hummus is made of tahini - concentrated sesame - literally the worst kind). I asked for the ingredients of the hummus, and was read out the nutritional label, I continued to ask for the ingredient list, was still told that it had protein and energy it! The owner was defensive and rude, and honestly an awful person, who did not care about my health at all! I needed to use my epi pen, plus two more on the way to the hospital. So to reiterate, DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU ARE ALLERGIC OR ANAPHYLACTIC...

I don’t have to reveal myself to you or anyone. My feedback is based purely on the dishonesty. Not everyone that comes to your cafe is stupid. Perhaps don’t leave muffins sitting there for days. Around the corner, they are cooked daily. Know the difference.

27/12 - I asked them if their muffins were fresh. ‘Yes’ the guy making coffee said. I knew they weren’t but I wanted to see how dumb they thought I was and I wanted to see their respect for customers.
