The best Pizza in Melbourne and possibly Australia!

After watching Dub Eats Everything's youtube video again and again and again, my wife and I finally had the chance to stop in and try Sunnyside Sliced for ourselves. I had high hopes. Youtube really glamourised the place, and the pies in the video looked incredible - as does most food post-production. The difference between those other foods and Sunnyside's slices is Sunnyside Sliced holds up! I consider myself an aficionado of pizza. I eat it as often as I can and years of watching Dave Portnoy have turned me into a bit of a harsh critic (even though I will enjoy almost every slice I can wrap my laughing gear around). When we walked into Ali Ali's restaurant today, we were met with a rich doughy smell, pumping music that set the New York scene, and friendly faces everywhere. The place was neat, tidy, clean and had such an awesome vibe about it. While the place looked fantastic, we really didn't come for the decor and the pies themselves looked even better. We ordered the vodka Sicilian slice, pepperoni Sicilian slice (with hot honey), and the classic - Sunnyside Cheesy. The food was fresh and out in front of us in a matter of minutes. Cannot fault the service. The Sunnyside Cheesy surprised the hell out of me. Picking it up there was a decent amount of flop - not always a bad thing, but I do like a crispy slice - but putting it in my mouth and taking a bite, the sound my teeth made as they pierced the underbelly to die for, could have been louder than the music that was pumping. I wouldn't really know because my mind was so caught up on how insanely crispy this slice was, and then there was the sauce! I don't want to know what was in it because nothing that tastes that good can be good for you, and I hope they never share it because it's putting them on the map. The Sicilian slices were a new thing to me, but they also measured up to the hype. The vodka sauce was sweet and spicy, making a corner slice that had an amazing complexity of flavours all on a dough that was light, fluffy, and a statement on its own. The pepperoni was as you'd hope to expect a good slice, the pepperoni was crispy, sauce was generously applied, but then that hot honey brought something out in it that was truly special. I feel privileged that the owner was on his way in as we left and I had a chance to tell him that I had just eaten the best pizza I had ever tasted to his face. He was genuinely humbled (which surprised me because if I had a product that good, surely I'd be telling you I knew you it), he was appreciative and generally just a nice guy which just makes it all the better. Easily some of the best food I've eaten since moving to Melbourne and hands down the best pizza in the city...actuall maybe the best pizza in...

Ali and the team have hands down the best pizza shop in Victoria. Have been to New York and the pizzas here are on par if not better than New York. From the moment you step into the place, it's a flawless experience. The customer service is spot on, very welcoming, very knowledgable and super friendly and accomodating. It's a family run business and you can tell by the amount of love and care put into the food and overall place... The pizza, the pasta, the garlic roll, the cocktails are all to die for! There is a cute outdoor area with great tunes playing. A great place to unwind, kick back and enjoy some of the best pizza you will have in your life! You really can't fault this place at all. I was lucky to get a job in the area and stumble upon this place by accident and honestly it's been one of the best stumbles and finds I have made! I still remember when I did. It was late at night, they had sold all their pizza & only had the garlic rolls left. The place was pumping inside. The customer service experience from Ali's sister Ayse at the front window was top notch! She was so friendly and inviting that it forced me to come again to try the pizza. She almost sold me on the garlic roll even though I specifically was craving only the pizza, her service was that good! Working in retail, I remember walking away and saying to my sister, that that was the kind of team member I wanted working for me in my workplace! Boy am I glad I went back because the food quality is exceptional and an extension of the great customer service! Hats off to these guys for delivering such a great product and such a great experience to so many! To Ali, to his mum, to his sister and to all the staff that work there well done and congrats on making this place such a gem with food that is top notch and a customer service experience that would rival any 5 star customer service experience on this planet! The only negative I can give this place is what it has done to my wasteline, cos I can't get enough of the delicious food! Just kidding this place has no negatives it's perfect! Sunnyside Sliced is hands down without a doubt the BEST PIZZA PLACE I have ever been to! I literally feel blessed to live locally to Sunnyside Sliced!❤️‍🔥 everything is perfect, starting from the base to the toppings as well as the energy as soon as you walk in the door, everyone at Sunnyside Sliced is friendly and happy, they are extremely welcoming and do their absolute best to make you feel at home, the Restaurants layout is awesome, it's warm and exciting at the same time, there is both indoor and outdoor seating and you can literally watch everything that goes on behind the scenes with the making of the Pizzas while very tasteful music plays throughout the establishment, the Beer Garden out the back is fantastic, there's so much space so you aren't cramped in a crowd, I can't praise the Sunnyside Sliced Team enough! They do such a great job at keeping the standard as high as possible all the time producing in my opinion MELBOURNES BEST PIZZA⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I HIGHLY RECOMMEND SUNNYSIDE SLICED! if you haven't tried it before? Don't waste time thinking about it.. just go and try it ASAP! I spoke with the Supreme Leader of Sunnyside Sliced and he told me the back story leading up to this amazing place His name is Ali and he's a second generation Pizza Hero that did some travelling overseas and was inspired by the quality of some of New York's best Pizza after wasting a fair bit of money eating in fancy over priced Restaurants and not being satisfied by the ordinary Food He ordered some Pizza to redeem his cravings, this along with his families history in the Pizza industry would be the seed of something beautiful, if you want to know the story? I suggest heading down and getting yourself the best slice of Pizza you will ever get your hands on!...
