Best brunch place I’ve been to in Melbourne! The food and drink was phenomenal!

Starting with the drinks, I appreciated that the freshly squeezed orange juice didn’t come with an excessive amount of ice like some other places. It was good amount of juice and it was nice and refreshing on a hot Summer’s day.

The iced coffee was also excellent. The coffee profile complemented the ice cream it came with and was again, very much appreciated on a hot day.

Now for the food, the Buddha was a very generous serving! It’s essentially a vego big breakkie with mushrooms, roasted tomatoes, a hash brown, poached eggs (which I believe were done in vinegar as they were the best eggs I’ve had in Melbourne) and a delicious mint avo mixture on toast. It also came with a mini granola bowl which was nice - crunchy and coconutty!

And for the star of the show, the crunchy mushrooms! This dish is Panko crumbed mushrooms which are deep fried to perfection. It also came with crispy kale chips for extra crunch, two perfectly poached eggs and pumpkin purée to provide some sweetness to balance the saltiness of the dish.

One small suggestion is that perhaps you can make the slices of bread a bit thicker so there’s a bit more to chew but that might just be a personal preference.

Friendly service as well as wonderful decor really tops off the...

We came to Hyde N Seek as a half way point to meet friends! Saw they had 4.5 stars and thought it’s got to be good. Unfortunately it really didn’t hit the mark for us. The service was friendly of course but we were kind of forgotten in the back and had to go and ask to get our orders taken.

We ordered: 🍗 2 x chicken parmas - very thin, too much breading, chips and salad were nice! 🥑 smashed avocado, poached eggs done well but just a small serving in my opinion for the price, lacking a hit of flavour. An actual wedge of lemon would have been nice to put on top instead of a slice for decoration 🥪 schnitzel toastie - nothing amazing 🥞 kids pancakes was probably the highlight even though I didn’t get to try it but was the best presentation and pancakes themselves looked fluffy ☕️ iced chai was really good! I did have to ask if it was powdered or loose, with an extra charge for loose leaf which is fine but worthwhile the staff asking customers which they prefer when it’s being ordered to avoid disappointment.

The back area is lovely, great spot for kids to have some space to...

There’s not many good coffee places around the area so I always would need to go out of my to get here nestled in the neighbourhood to get some decent coffee but never coming back to the appalling lack of food safety regulations or training of staff Was waiting outside for my coffee with also a lady also seeming to wait outside sitting at one of the tables. She got out her nail clippers out and started clipping away on the table which was DISGUSTING!! My order came out and one of the waitresses brought it out and I asked her if she was a customer of yours she replied “yes” and I told her she is clipping nails at your table and she just smiled and shrugged it off and went back to work inside. Am I being too sensitive? I would hate to eat here with the lack of food safety concerns amongst staff Sorry, I’m Not returning again. This happened Sat 1:27pm for your record - if the owner was to...

We had the big breakfast with sides of salmon and avocado. Despite what the below reviews have said, it looks expensive on the menu but, they give you a full plate of food. There were a lot of good home-made ingredients and overall, a pleasant experience. They ALMOST got 3 stars for GIVING US TROUT, when the side order is SALMON!!! (They should've told us) All in all, we'll be back. July 2022 we are back!! The menu and plates have changed but, it’s still great food I had the big breakfast again (photo 1 compared to todays hoot 3) Maybe different chef?? Again, still great food September 2023 we are back We’ve been back a few times since but, now with new owners, I thought it was important to note that the food standards are just as good, if not, BETTER!!! Friendly staff- very encouraging to come back more often.
