Once the best fish and chip shop in Craigieburn now the most disgusting take away food I’ve ever had. Firstly they made my burger and let it sit on the shelve whilst they cooked my chips, dim sims and potato cakes. At first I thought ok my chips are almost done because the burger was ready then I waited waited waited and stood up to watch what the 2 women where doing…one was cooking the potato cakes, dim sims, crab sticks, flakes in bulk and was then putting them on the shelve above the fryer..I found that really weird because there was a lot just sitting there..I saw 2 baskets of chips cooked just sitting on the shelf waiting like poor souls to be packed…the other lady was packing food and was taking the food from the shelf that had been just sitting there for at least 5 mins…I then noticed she started to pack my order and took my potato cakes, dim sims and chips from the shelf…the food had been sitting there open to the cold air. As soon as I took my order I asked if my food was cooked fresh or was taken from the shelf…she didn’t know what to say and I opened it up to feel the food that was completely cold..I asked how long the food was sitting on the shelf she said “5 mins” not good enough absolutely disgusting and too top it off it’s VERY CLEAR they do not change the oil…I couldn’t eat my food it was HORRIBLE AWFUL…chips weee frozen and soggy 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮there is no fixing this place they have stuffed it up big time..will never go there again…P.S I HAD TO OUT SALT ON MY FOOD EVEN THOUGH I ASKED FOR CHICKEN SALT!! No salt what so ever everyone else...

Unfortunately, the shop has changed ownership and the new owner is yet to find the standards that were previously loved.

Regrettably, we’re now seeking our Fish N Chip fix at other locations - sadly, I can’t recommend this store at present.

I hope they can improve.

Without question - the best Fish N Chips around by a country mile. Friday night is the pick of the evenings. Fish is thick and fresh - beautifully cooked. Chips are almost always outstanding. Staff are fantastic, friendly, polite and always accommodating.

Veteran's tip: Place a phone order ahead of time.

Tip for the store: get a second register for people who have placed phone orders - can be frustrating queueing behind people placing an order when you know yours will be cooked already and you only need to pay-collect-leave. The best stores have multiple registers going and that was be...

Used to be our regular but new management has changed things. Food regularly unsalted now on multiple visits, a few times just ordering chips and asking for chicken salt resulting in no salt at all. Hopefully an improvement to come in the near future.

Update: I am updating this review to 1 star from 2 to reflect the continued lack of salting the food when chicken salt is requested. Is this some sort of anti-chicken salt establishment? Does the request of chicken salt offend staff to the point they do not use any salt at all to spite the chicken salt requestor? So bizarre. Perhaps chicken salt is being misinterpreted for no salt?
