Kong's Chinese Bistro — Restaurant in Melbourne

Recieved dim sims without the soy sauce that I specifically requested EXTRA SOY SAUCE. The order was repeated back to me including the soy sauce. I called after the delivery to request the missing soy sauce. I was told they could not deliver it for a long while as the driver had not yet returned (obviously, as he had just driven away from here). I asked if we could return the ones that were delivered and have fresh ones with extra soy sauce so my Mum can eat a hot meal. I was told that they would just send out the soy sauce sooner and I could not have a replacement. I informed my Mum as I didn't want her to have a cold meal... I decided to order and pay for more instead and discard the ones they delivered as my Mum does not like dimsims without their soy sauce. I called to inform them that I would order another serve instead of them bringingsoy sauce so my Mum can eat them hot. The person on the phone informed me that I have to order a minimum of $20 and pay a $5 delivery fee. I queried this as they were sending me the soy sauce anyway as it was their mistake. The person I was speaking to got off the phone for a minute and came back to tell me they would not charge me the delivery fee, but that I will have to pay for the replacement. I said that is fine I just want my Mum to have a hot meal. The food arrived one hour later cold. I have not had a problem with Kongs until this point. My Mum is unwell and unable to travel and should be able to get a hot take away meal correct the first time or at least corrected when they do make a mistake. I find this inexcusable particularly as I said numerous times I just wanted her to be anle to have a HOT MEAL and it arrived cold. It was not worth the money. I will not be ordering...

We've ordered twice from Kong's (through uber eats with priority delivery) and both times food was pretty good! We're new to the Roxy Park area and have been on the hunt for a good Chinese place, AND i think we found it! The special fried rice is like the old school fried rice (husband loved it!) Mongolian Beef and Beef and black bean is very tasty, honey chicken and S&S Pork wasn't bad. Noodle Combination wasnt the greatest - the least fave so far (its like it was missing a little flavour - but wasnt horrible). Definitely our local go-to Chinese for a good Friday night take away meal. Not fussed on the prices but for some may be a tad expensive. 4 dishes usually is about $100 (uber eats prices)....

I've been going to Kong's since it opened. I've always been treated respectfully and the food was lovely. The last couple of times the food has been 'meh' and the staff completely disorganised and even rude. They are hopeless on the phone, forgetting people holding on more than one occasion. In fact, on one visit, I even had to remind one woman that she still had someone on hold when it came to my turn in line. I don't know whether they are under new management or have new staff, but they really are hopeless now and it's time to look for a new place, or maybe a good opportunity to just focus on...
