Read moreLaurent used to be my favourite bakery for pastries, cakes and coffee. I go there often as I live locally. For such a reputation brand, I am totally disappointed when they messed up my family order for a celebration cake. The cake I ordered was one that we are anticipating to try since it's a new flavour that recently been released. I understand it is pretty popular as stated on their website. Therefore I purposely place the order 6 days prior to pick up. I received an email for order confirmation. The day before to pick up, I call the store to confirm and let them know I will pick up first thing in morning the next day. I also receive an email reminder the day prior for the pick up. On the morning of the pick up day, as I was getting ready to head to the store, I received a call from the store manager that my order did not come. They said they have a print confirmation of my order however they did not receive the cake in store that morning. I am absolutely devastated. Their excuse was they don't know what went wrong and they could be sold out or not sure why it wasn't delivered to them or it could be system issue because they are doing update and upgrade to their ordering platform. They have 5 business days to call me and let me know if the cake I ordered is sold out or let me know in advanced. But they didn't have the courtesy to check and advise until the day I pick up. At that point I am loss for words. All I could think about was how disappointed the birthday boy is not getting the right cake that he wishes to try and had for his celebration. We ended up getting another cake as they are no other options and only limited cakes available in store that day to select and replace with. When I went to the store at the counter to pick up, the store manager Justine didn't apologise or attend to me personally although I have spoken to her twice on the phone that morning to fix up the mess. She was next to the cashier and overheard my name as I was there at the counter to pick up. She help the cashier get my order from the fridge. Obviously she knew who I was but give no eye contact and had her back turned around me busy plating up the food pretending not to know or acknowledge my presence. Totally felt disgusted by the way I was treated although it was not my fault. Next time I am not going to order celebration cake there. I am worried I might end up with another disappointment. There are obviously better cakes out there in Doncaster shopping centre. You can easily select and pick many from Brunetti cakes that they selling in Colonial Fresh Market. Ferguson's cake is always fresh and yummy. I have ordered from Ferguson many times for weekend sweets and they are across Fish Pier. Another good one is the cake from Reverie Cafe near Apple store. They are surprisingly...
Read moreI came in after work last night to purchase a cake or desert for a function I was invited to last night. This was not the first time that I have purchased a desert to take to out as generally their presentation and taste is delicious and even though they are pricey, I’m okay paying for quality! I will say this to your managers, the service in your store is exceptionally slow and arrogant. I waited, and another family before me was waiting for a good 10 minutes to be served and I actually had to go up to one of the young staff members to actually ask for some one to assist us. He actually looked shocked that I asked but there was no apology or acknowledgement that people had been waiting for so long for assistance. I find that this slow service is always an issue at your store, yet at Chadstone they are friendly, and prompt in service. No one should have to wait 10 to 15 min for assistance? I would have walked out but really needed the cake, which was your vanilla custard tart. $40 Tart, was soooo disappointing last night after dinner, I was actually embarrassed when my sister in law served it up. Tasted like nothing, the only vanilla was the vanilla bean decorating the top. No taste what so ever! So pastry with custard, texture of which was pretty average and no taste what so ever! 8 people at dinner, half the tart was left over and lots of negative comments. A waste of food and money, as my sister in law would have probably thrown it out after I left. So from I service perspective, extremely disappointing, but the desert even...
