đ„ Buttermilk Hotcakes đł Shakshuka Eggs
Lenny 3206 is a beautiful heritage space on Victoria Street that has been transformed into a modern eatery, with a very minimal and natural design. Very light and colourful, perfect for any Instagram feed. It is also sibling cafe to @moby3143
The Hotcakes were really nice, not ridiculously sweet and covered generously in fresh banana, miso caramel, vanilla bean mascarpone and smashed cookies. Itâs a shame though that they werenât light and fluffy but dense - more like a cake.
The Shakshuka Eggs were very Mexican inspired, the eggs were poached rather than baked and was served with corn chips rather than bread. Although creative, I wasnât keen on the substitutions and it was a disappointing dish. It felt more like a salsa except it really lacked any flavour. This dish is no longer on their menu. The side of halloumi I ordered had an unpleasant crumb on it, I wouldâve much preferred it without.
They serve a very nice Chai Latte, but the Hot Chocolate was disappointing and very weak. Top points for service as they were very quick and polite considering the cafe was absolutely bustling on a Friday morning. Indoor and outdoor tables are available. I would return in the future to try some of their other dishes, as they have a pretty solid menu.

Read moreCame here today to have a brunch. Firstly, waited at the door for 10 minutes to be seated. There was no other patrons waiting to be seated so wasnât super happy to wait for ten minutes at the door to start with. Once seated, waited approx 5 minutes for water and the menus. A team member took our coffee orders once we had an eye contact and it was 12:58pm. We waited for approx 18 minutes for them to come back to take our food orders as well and please factor in there is no coffee in sight still. Went up to the manager asking how long for the coffees(they were ready on the bench), the answer was âeither I can put these coffees in a take away cup or just send straight to your table. We asked is it normal to wait for coffees over 20 minutes? The answer was âit is normal on a weekendâ without any empathy or professionalism. We both work in hospitality and this can not be an approach to your guests. We thanked and left accordingly. While these venues are packed and thinking they can get away with this attitude, there are plenty of places to visit/try and leave without a bitter taste. Couldnât score the food...
Read moreWanted to love it, we'd had this on our list for forever to try. But were let down on the first visit.
We were seated and then wait 25 minutes for someone to come ask us what we wanted. We had to flag down a waitress. We had originally arrived at 1130am. Then waited 30 minutes for the food to arrive. Food was ok but sadly a little bland for an omelet and the sourdough was hard as a rock and inedible. My friend walked away to move her car (all parking surrounding is an hour or half hour except for a small section thats 2.5 hrs) and whilst she was gone the gentleman (could be owner? had a sleeve tatt) walked past and asked if she was done, I said politely 'no please leave it shes just popped out to move her car' and he threw his hands up like in a defense and walked away without saying anything? Unsure if he was just doing it as a joke but it was odd.
on a good note, the OJ was delicious albeit pricey at $6.50 a glass. My friends meal of eggs on toast with mushrooms was yum although she said it lacked a bit of taste.
Glad we atleast...
