Terrible Experience – Disappointed on Mother’s Day
We had a booking for 19 people at Masala Bar and Grill in Officer, and unfortunately, the experience was nothing short of frustrating and disappointing.
Only half of our mains were served initially, and the rest—including drinks—were severely delayed, with some guests not receiving their meals until 8:45 PM. That’s over an hour and a half after we were seated. To make matters worse, customers who arrived much later than us were being served well before our table.
We first raised our concerns at 8:10 PM. Rather than taking note of the missing items, staff simply nodded or said “okay” mid-sentence, which didn’t help at all. Twenty minutes after the first complaint, still no food. It wasn’t until a second complaint that things finally started to arrive. We had also reordered naans at around 7:30, which never came. After repeated follow-ups, we ended up cancelling them out of frustration.
It was clear that our table was overlooked, as other customers did not seem to face the same delays.
This was supposed to be a special Mother’s Day dinner, but it was tarnished by poor service, lack of communication, and no sense of urgency from the staff. We eventually cancelled our final order due to the unacceptable delay.
Reading through other reviews, it’s clear this isn’t an isolated issue, and it’s disheartening to see that the service quality hasn’t improved. I strongly urge the management to reconsider accepting large bookings if they cannot meet the basic standard of timely service and...
Read moreWas surprised to see chicken 65 in the menu around this area. Ordered it and it turned out to be tasty. A proper deep fried chicken without sauce on top of it. Just like how Chicken 65 in Tamilnadu is made.
Update: Earlier I had rated the eatery with 5 stars. Reducing it to 2 now. I ordered chicken 65 and papdi chaat like last time + a Hyderabadi chicken biriyani. Last time, the chicken 65 was very tasty, texture was crispy outside and spongy inside and there was very minimal colour added which didn't end up sticking to my hand. But, this time, the taste was okayish, texture was chewy outside and hard inside like what happens when you over fry chicken and the level of colour they had added was atrociously high. Papdi chaat was very tasty last time. This time it was not very bad. But, I guess they didn't have enough papdi. So, they had filled half the box with Dahi Vada which wasn't even good. Why would a decent restaurant do that? And there was nothing 'Hyderabadi' in the biriyani. They could probably name it 'Officer' Dum biriyani. I can understand when they gave me a microwave reheated old biriyani with stick like rice as it was Sunday evening. But, the chicken wasn't even properly cooked. I had to throw them off. It surprises me that the same restaurant can dish out the same stuff with polar opposite tastes and quality just within a...

We recently hosted a baby shower celebration at Masala bar and grill and we couldn’t be more pleased with our experience. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. The entire team went above and beyond to ensure that everything ran smoothly, making it a truly memorable occasion for us and our guests.
The food was absolutely outstanding—every dish was prepared to perfection, full of authentic flavors, and beautifully presented. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about the variety and quality of the menu. It was evident that great care had been taken in both the preparation and presentation of each dish.
A special mention to Hena, who took excellent care of us throughout the event. Her attention to detail, professionalism, and warm hospitality made all the difference in ensuring that everything was seamless. Additionally, Sameer was a pleasure to work with—his professionalism, responsiveness, and accommodating nature made the entire planning process effortless.
