Organised a office lunch and contacted Middleman a week before and asked”what is the process?” Got a reply “send email with orders required. Great so got the whole office included. At my last job I was office caterer so I’ve done this before on a bigger scale and you always need to ask what the process is as everyone is different. Some restaurants/cafes need money deposited and order 2 days before, some need order and deposit, some require payment and order COB day before and some just send through order in the morning. So as I was told by Middleman just send through your order I did just that on Friday morning 9am. I received a lovely email back saying they need 24 hours notice and they can’t do the order for 13 people. I replied saying I was never told that and would have done that if I was told. I then called the 2 mobiles on the catering form and left vm then called back and a man told me I should have know they need 24 hours and that he assumes everyone knows that!! I asked what the process is and never got told that. He didn’t care and that he had to go as he was busy. But he did offer to organise some wraps and people can have 1/2 a wrap each. I told him not everyone wants raps. The man (Bill I think) was really rude and didn’t care and just kept saying that he thought everyone knew they need 24 hours. I personally dont expect my customers to know my company process so it’s up to me to educate them. Real shame that Middleman don’t really care about customer service so I would assume they are happy to loose business as I’ve had breakfast there before and told everyone about Middleman in my office. Won’t ever be going back and telling everyone I know at my work, gym buddys, customers and colleagues as I often get asked by businessmen on where to go in the area. I have discussed the menu and food with them, and they really listen and take heed of what is being said. The staff are amazing, and i now really look forward to my morning coffee and cake, as i am recognized greeted by nice people who brighten my day. I come here every single day. I used to go to another place near by. This place is bright and friendly and welcoming. And the new panna cotta/granola breakfast is amazing.
