A Culinary Delight: Experiencing Authentic Chinese Flavors at MODU Restaurant in Clayton!"

Nestled in the heart of Clayton, MODU Restaurant is a hidden gem that beckons all food enthusiasts on a flavorful journey to the heart of China. I recently had the pleasure of dining at this exceptional Chinese restaurant, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience that left my taste buds dancing with delight. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with the comforting aromas of authentic Chinese dishes wafting through the air. MODU Restaurant boasts an extensive menu featuring a plethora of culinary delights from various regions of China, showcasing the diversity and richness of this ancient cuisine. Whether you're a seasoned connoisseur or new to Chinese flavors, this restaurant has something to excite every palate. Warm and Inviting Ambience: The ambiance at MODU Restaurant struck the perfect balance between modern sophistication and traditional charm. The warm, inviting decor created an ideal setting for a delightful dining experience. Be it an intimate dinner for two or a gathering of friends and family, the restaurant's relaxed atmosphere added an extra layer of enjoyment to the meal. Impeccable Service: One aspect that truly stood out during my visit was the impeccable service provided by the staff. From the moment I was seated, I felt attended to and well-cared for. The waitstaff was not only knowledgeable about the menu but also eager to offer insightful suggestions and recommendations, making the dining experience all the more enjoyable. A Gastronomic Adventure: Now, let's talk about the food—the real star of the show! Every dish that graced our table was a symphony of flavors and textures. From the classic favorites like mouthwatering Kung Pao Chicken and aromatic Peking Duck to lesser-known regional specialties, each dish was a gastronomic adventure that tantalized the senses. The ingredients were fresh, the spices were well-balanced, and the presentation was truly Instagram-worthy. Must-Try Dishes: While everything I tried was exceptional, a few dishes left a lasting impression. The Dan Dan Noodles were a fiery revelation, perfectly capturing the essence of Sichuan cuisine. The velvety Mapo Tofu, with its satisfying heat, was a delightful vegetarian option. For seafood lovers, the Szechuan-style Fish Fillet was an absolute winner, bursting with a medley of flavors. Unforgettable Dining Experience: In conclusion, MODU Restaurant in Clayton is a true culinary haven for those seeking an unforgettable Chinese dining experience. From the delectable dishes prepared with love and finesse to the warm hospitality, this restaurant effortlessly combines the essence of China's culinary heritage with modern-day appeal. If you're a food enthusiast or simply looking to savor authentic Chinese flavors in Clayton, MODU Restaurant is the place to be. I can't recommend it enough, and I'm already looking forward to my next visit to indulge in more of their...

Second Visit: Love the delicious generous serving of Sze Chuan fish fillets with rice at ~$12.

I tried to order a glass of cold milk to wash away some of the spicy peppery taste instead of gulping down glasses of free water which barely does the job to remove the spicy taste (authentic).

I felt there is an unrealised $$$ opportunity for restaurants / food courts that sell spicy food like Chinese Sze Chuan / Indian Curry / Hotpot to create a better customer experience for the benefits of all stakeholders by selling cold milk - although milk tends to spoil quickly thus its likely you will only find cold milk served in high end establishments e.g. hotels. Would small individual long shelf life milk packets do the trick of removing spiciness?

This will be valuable especially in Western countries for people of all demographics who are not used to taking spicy food. Think about the benefits worldwide and at MoDu Clayton restaurant. First Visit: Restaurant Name: Modu Clayton Chinese Restaurant Unique Dish: Duck Blood Noodles. Food: Good Portion size. Service: Servers are well presented, smiling & polite. Came quickly to use when we raised our hands for service. Atmosphere: Well decorated & Clean. Toilet is clean. Great Music at the right volume. Price: Value for $$$ - Braised Beef Rice I give it 5 / 5 stars. I highly recommend you to bring your family, colleagues and friends there this week. Thank you. :) Best regards, Jianfa Ben Tsai 30 years of Restaurant Dining Experience Managed Food Business Worked at...

I took my partner to Modu Clayton on Monday to celebrate Valentines day with her, and we were really looking forward to enjoying a great Chinese meal.

The experience was a disaster from our first step into the restaurant, as the the person who led us to our table seemed totally disinterested in us. On being seated he handed us a single menu, pointed to a QR code on the wall stated that we order our meal by scanning it, and then walked away.

The 'menu' was in actual fact a large plush photo album of their food, which didn't seem to be ordered in any sensible fashion, and which we had to keep turning on it's side so we could read the descriptions. I won't even try to explain the difficulties I experienced in getting just the bottle of wine into our 'basket', let alone finding the entrée in the phone menu which in no way aligned with the photo album. Even McDonalds don't make you do this.

The upshot is that we walked out, and went to Taco Bill. On arrival we were given a warm welcome, and subsequently received a nice meal with a minimum of effort on our part. At all times there we were made to feel that we were important to them which is how a restaurant should treat their patrons.

To finish this review I will mention that we visited Modu Clayton 4 years ago, and gave them a rave review...

Delicious Chinese food!!! 👍👍👍 🍆🥔🫑My favourite dish was the Fried Eggplant, Potato and Capsicum - the sauce was so tasty and the vegetables were cooked to perfection. 🍗🧂🍳 If you are a fan of salted egg flavoured food, you should go for the Chicken Wings with Salted Egg Yolk. The salted egg flavour was quite strong, which I liked. 🦆🥘🦆 The Shanghai Style Stewed Duck was not bad. The duck meat was thick and covered in a beautiful, sweet sauce. The duck meat could've been slightly softer, but overall still a great dish. ◻◻⚫ I loved the Silk Tofu with Century Egg. It was refreshing and light on the palate, so it really helped to balance out the strong flavours of the other dishes we ordered. 🥟🥟🍚 The Steamed Sticky Rice Dim Sum was just okay. Not a favourite. 🍚🍜🍚 For our carbs, we ordered Dry Noodles with Scallions and just some basic Steamed Rice. The noodles were so yummy and had a lovely texture!!! The rice was packed into the bowl beautifully - it was heaped and rounded at the top perfectly. 🤌🏻👌🏼 The restaurant had a nice ambiance. Its interior design was modern but still had a traditional feel to it.

We tried Modu as it was in the gold section of the Entertainment Book and by the look of the website, we thought it to be a high end and upscale Chinese restaurant. While it wasn't high end, it's certainly got a nice, modern vibe to it and good food. Parking is quite problematic in the area, but getting a table here isn't. They sit you down and only give half of the table a menu. It's quite an extensive menu, so really everyone needs their own. Admittedly, as a fairly non adventurous eater, the menu is a little scary with items like duck blood this and bullfrog that. But the meals we all got were quite good. The food came out fast and everything tasted nice. I've certainly had a better meal at other Chinese restaurants before, but this was ok for sure if you're in the area. I think the food is reasonably priced - with or without the Entertainment Book - and the service was efficient and friendly enough. With so much to choose from and a good amount of seating and tasty fare, I'd recommend Modu if you find yourself in this part of town.
