Came here last night with my Indonesian wife and our 3 year old son. We don't get out much as we are new to Melbourne so we are still exploring restaurants. It was late so I checked to make sure it was still ok to come in and was told yes. The service was as expected, water, menu etc. From that moment on, it was as if we had offended the owner? and the waiter. We were ignored, I tried to make light jokes with our waiter about our son and him pretending he was ordering for himself from the menu and nothing, nothing but a blank stare. The other guy (owner, manager?) just stood around and said nothing to us the entire evening about ANYTHING AT ALL. I should point out that we were now, the ONLY PEOPLE in the restaurant after he had said goodnight to the other table of guests and did a kind of Thai hands together bow gesture and then turned off the air conditioner even though we were still in the restaurant! We ate our meals, both of which were delicious and generous. After that, my son tried time after time to speak with the waiter and the other guy and they just continued their private conversation with their backs to us and ignored him. At this point, my wife asked the young man if she could have her meal take away as she was so upset with what just happened to her son and was given 2 plastic containers and a plastic bag at the table to pack her dinner herself. What is with the people here in Melbourne? Is this normal? I'm not asking for a sit down conversation with people who work somewhere, just a hi, funny weather, how was your meal, oh you have a toy car that's nice, sort of communication would have been enough. Anyway the food was good, décor was Thai, the service was...
Read moreShared a dine-in experience here tonight with my fiancé as he had many positive things to say about the place as a long term customer a few years ago.
We ordered 4 entrees, 1 main meal, a soup and 2 drinks and upon check out and receiving the bill, I was quite shocked at the price.
At check out i also picked up a takeaway menu as my partner was paying for our meal and I was blown away by the price difference in the dine in prices and takeaway. On the main dish we ordered to dine in was $7 extra on top of the takeaway price. Which is just mind boggling.
For the price of $86 that we paid tonight, I would of expected the meals to be a lot bigger and as we paid $5 for a coke no sugar served in a glass with ice it was defiantly not worth it, considering I didn’t even receive a can to refill the glass.
The takeaway prices are defiantly a more realistic depiction of the meals you receive while dining in and although it was a nice atmosphere and the food was quite nice, I would not recommend dining in for the price that you pay as it is defiantly not a...
Read moreI rarely leave reviews, but after our experience at this Thai restaurant, I feel compelled to share my thoughts. My partner and I dined here last night, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience.
The owner himself served us, and his attitude was far from welcoming. He was unpleasant, spoke rudely, and made us feel judged throughout the meal. It’s rare to encounter such a negative demeanor in the service industry, and it greatly affected the atmosphere of our evening.
As for the food, it was passable but certainly not remarkable—far from what we expected given the reviews we’d seen. Strangely, the restaurant was nearly empty during peak dining hours, which seemed unusual, especially considering two nearby Thai restaurants were fully booked. This gave us the impression that the uninviting atmosphere created by the owner might be driving customers away.
Frankly, I’m surprised to see so many positive reviews for this place. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this restaurant and will not...
